Wal-Mart had some for $5.99, but I'm not sure on the quality. They had regular hand held ones (non-misting) and the blades were made of foam (but they were $1.99). I did not look at the other ones. I am interested to see what you find because I also need to buy one.
$7.99 Target has combination water bottler/mister. The mister pumps so you don't need batteries. The mist comes out really fine and doesn't need a fan. We love ours and they come in different colors.

We bought the little ones at Walmart last year. I thought they were perfect. They had a caribeener ( I know it is spelled wrong) clip to hook onto something and were small enough that they weren't a hassle carrying.
That would be my suggestion. My two younger kids loved theirs. I can't imagine carrying a bigger one.
I got the small ones at Walmart which require a AA battery. I liked the fact that they were small and clip onto belt loop instead of having to carry them around. Worked great last week at WDW once the rain stopped!
I bought some nice mist fans from Walmart and then I went over to the scrapbooking section and got Disney stickers (the flat "almost clear" ones) and let each child decorate theirs and I also got glittery letters so that they could put their names on them also. I personally prefer to get the fan with the thin plastic blades instead of the foam blades because my kids always manage to rip the foam blades off before the first day is over!
I have this mister bottle too, but we don't drink from it. The idea of spraying ourselves with backwash kind of grossed me out. I do like the mist, but you have to hold it upright to spray. I wish I just used my small spray bottle (from the travel section of Target). Didn't think about the backwash issue until afterwards. Also, it's difficult for my daughter to drink out of the spout- it collapses on itself.
My Target was out of them (I'll try another store). I checked out the ones at WalMart, and the fans with the mist were $5.99 and the blades were made of foam. They also had a large misting fan for $9.99.

I just saw a really nice one at Home Depot yesterday. I think it was 8.99. 4 colors to chose from too! We are not going till next October, so I am going to keep my eye out for them to go down maybe????
We bought ours at Wal-Mart at the beginning of summer for $9.99. Yes, they took batteries, lasted our whole trip (we even left one on traveling down for a little while), and were great. We took a carabiner and attatched it to our backpack. We're a family of 5, but 2 did us perfectly.
Went to Target today, and they have the same misters for $7.99 and an additional 30% in the summer section. We loved ours.
