Our trip is in 9 days and my sis in law called me this morning and told me I added an extra e to her name on her airline ticket! Will they let her fly or do we have to pay the fifty bucks to have it changed??? I am just so mad at myself over this stupid mistake!!!!

I think it is a safe bet that you are going to have to call the airline and correct the mistake. I believe that her eticket name must match her ID exactly or she could be denied boarding. Don't really know how strict the TSA is with that policy but I would certainly call your airline to be sure.

Call the airline and try to get the name corrected. Peace of mind that way

Which airline is it? Most airlines do not allow name changes on tickets. If it's a domestic ticket, it will probably not matter. You can actually fly without ID, you just have to go through extra security.

I booked airfare for our family and used my SIL's maiden name (that's the name I always call her)! I called Southwest & they had to get a supervisor to fix it. Call the airline ASAP.

Under the TSA's Secure Flight Program, the airline must supply every passenger's full name (as it appears on government-issued ID), date of birth, gender, and Redress Number (if applicable) to the TSA.

Contact the airline to update the name on the reservation for TSA compliance.

This is NOT the same as changing the name on a reservation to a different passenger. In the unlikely event that the airline agent will not help you, ask for a supervisor.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I couldn't get thru on the phone and the website wanted $50. Fifty bucks to change one letter!!!! I finally got thru and the agent changed it for no charge and re-issued the e-ticket. Whew! So glad my sis-in-law went to print things out today and caught my mistake! Lesson learned! Not sure if it would have been an issue at the gate, but glad it is fixed!:flower3:
