Just got back from the world yesterday and wasn't sure if this is posted. But on Friday May 19th Mission Space debut its milder version. When you enter the line you have a choice of "green" which is the milder version and "orange" which is the original version. The standby for the green line was 10 min and orange line was 30 min. DS5 and I choice the green..it was a great experience DS wanted to ride again and did! :thumbsup2 DH and DD11 both rode each version and thought that both were great. However, the milder version they thought would be more enjoyable for others that are hesistant in riding because of the force isn't there. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info. I am one who has never fully enjoyed Mission Space. But in the spirit of things I will do it one time every year. I hope the new version will make that easier for me. :teeth:

Can someone give a more detailed description of how they have changed the experience. My daughter always refused to go before & I'm trying to explain to her what's it like. Is it just the video or does it still simulate also? If so how much?

We rode the green (milder) version this past Monday. As the CM explained it, you still get the movements, you are only missing the spinning aspect of the ride. So essentially, you don't the the g-force of the lift-off and landing. You still get the side to side movements. It was similar to what you would experience at Star Tours.

I can't watch much of the video for Star Tours due to motion sickness issues. However I enjoyed most of the video for the Mission Space ride. The only time I felt ill was during the run through the canyons of Mars.

However, if you don't like enclosed spaces, this isn't the ride for you. The consoles come up very close to you so that you can push some buttons during the ride.

Funny, with the effect it had on many guests, I thought that the 'more intense' side would be "green"....

Haha! My guess is that green is for "good, OK" as in "giving the green light" and orange is for "caution". I may just be a huge geek though. :)

Well that's how I saw it too :)

Thanks for posting your review. I had ridden the original verison twice but did not enjoy how it made me feel for the rest of the day. It sounds like I will give the new "green" verison a try on our next trip this coming Sept.

I refused to ride the original version but got to experience what they are calling the "less intense" version on Wednesday. It was not scarry at all and would do it again. As busy as Epcot was my DH walked on the "more intense" version on Tuesday and we all walked on the less intense version Wednesday.

I knew about the orange/green card and have heard lots of reviews of Mission: SPACE Lite, but I had to chime in to say I think your subject like is a corker! Very creative and a real crack-up with the word 'green' meaning the card, not the color of your face when you exit. :teeth:

Thanks for the laugh. Cute, cute, cute! :thumbsup2

DW and I were planning on skipping M:S, but assumed the colors were reversed! We assumed orange was for the color you DIDN'T want to see after the ride...

Thanks for posting I how have added Mission Space to my list to do. Your review has made it more easier for me to decide I would never ride this before just like I will not ride rollar coasters either can't stand them so that leaves out EE,RNR,SM. Ca do BTM once.

Sounds like they need to re-evaluate their color scheme :rotfl2: .

So who wants to ride MS with me in July on the less intense version as DH and DS will be riding the intense version and I will be all alone.

I am so happy about the tamer version. My husband and I do not want to ride this ride. My DD who was 9 last trip was really wanting to ride it. I would not allow her to ride alone. She is turning 11 in July and if we go in the fall she will be allowed to ride the tamer version by herself. Now the original version well I just don't know yet.

While I enjoy the "orange" version I plan on trying the "green" version....You'd think they would have give the rides opposite names..."green" for the regular because people have been known to turn green on the ride.

Thank-you also from my family to know about this milder version. I was not going to allow my kids onto this ride, but I will now allow them (and me) to go onto the milder version. What is the age limits for this ride?
