mission space question????

We rode MS for the first time on our last visit. No one felt sick afterwards. I just kept telling my DD6 to look straight ahead, which she did. It is now one of her favorite rides.

My family thought that Body and Star Tours were absolutely no big deal. We couldn't understand what all the hoopla was all about in regards to getting sick. We barely felt the simulator move. Does this positively mean that we won't get sick on Mission Space? Are the simulators similar (except for the G-forces on MS)?:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

In my "old age" (I'm 25) I've started to get sick on Body Wars and Star Tours, but I think its all the stomach jostling. I didn't get sick on Mission: Space. It feels just like the Gravitron (fair ride) if you've ever ridden it. My DH did get sick on the ride. He almost through up after getting off. He never has problems. I say try it once to say you did it, and then if you get sick, you don't have to do it again.

IMO Body Wars and Star Tours are nothing like MS. I just find those great fun, but they dont bother me in the least. While I thought MS was great, I don't know if I will be going on it again or not. It was definately more intense. I didn't get sick, but I was lightheaded after MS. Can't say that ever happened on the other two rides

DH & I both enjoyed it - DS waited in the gift shop
After we went on, we asked DS if he wanted to try it, telling him it was ok but he still didnt
Next yr - most likely I'll skip it
but I can say "I did it!"

i do from time to time have problems with vertigo on spinning rides but i decided this past summer to try MS with my DS13.

i was a bit apprehensive as i went into the simulator, i am also a bit claustrophobic, so to say the least i was worried but the things we do for our kids.

well i had read about others experiences about MS and related them to my son to focus on the screen and to keep his head foward dont look over at me. well we did this and i can say that this ride was FANTASTIC!!! i honestly felt like i was really taking off into space. we rode MS 3 more times during our vacation.

Mission Space is now another member of the Kelly family must do list at WDW

It's a great ride! I think people who get motion sickness easily shouldn't do it though. My mom gets motion sickness sometimes and she was afraid to ride mission:space(by the time she wanted to chicken out we were already in the capsule....HAHA TOO LATE!!! Well anyway...) Mommy Dearest was grabbing the barf bags but she never did loose her MK lunch....She loved it! The moral of the story is... You can get motion sickness and still be able to ride. Just beware of how motion sick you can get...
AND REMEMBER....IF YOU FEEL SICK BRAF BAGS ARE WITHIN REACH! (*cough*Daddykins!*cough*):bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Just make sure you don't go to Tony's Town Square and have spaghetti before you ride :jumping1:!

I can't ride Body Wars or Star Tours, but MS did not make me sick. I followed the instructions carefully and did OK though I felt a bit lightheaded. What did get me was intense claustrophobia. I had no idea I would feel that "trapped" until they clsoed the door to the "capsule"--then, I completely freaked out. I thought I was having a heart attack and was utterly petrified. I managed not to scream or cry (my DD 7 was there) but I fought both urges until the ride was over. I will NEVER ride MS again.

TOok

I never get motion sickness on any of the rides. This one I just don't get. I followed all the directions and I really did not see what anyone would like about it. I felt like my face was being sucked off the whole time, and for the rest of the day I was nauseous. I wished I would have gotten sick and been done with it. Never Again

Don't forget to breathe! Sounds stupid, but with the pressure on your chest from liftoff, it's easy to try to hold your breath. Not a good idea.

I hardly ever get sick on anything but ms made me feel horrible. I don't know why because I didn't expect it to. I dont know why but if I had known how awful I would feel for quite a while I wouldn't have gone. Its very neat though.

got me curious and scared. i did do the gravitron ride at a carnival and i have never been seasick. what the heck...it only intense "daylong" motion sickness:rolleyes:
