Mission:Space question

Is the new ride Misson:Space ride open yet . I'm confused about it because I read in the Disney book that it opens on October 9th and now my mom says that it's already open.

There are currently previews of the ride going on. It's not scheduled, but have been after 4:00 on some days. The official Soft opening is August 15, and the Grand Opening is October 2003. August 15 you should be able to ride it like it's officially open, but there will be some down time to work out kinks and stuff. Hope this answers your question.

The official opening is August 15, but it currently operates at 75% capacity on most days, usually starting at about 1 pm. October 9 is the press event and dedication ceremony for the attraction, but unless you are a member of the media, that's nothing you need to be concerned about.
I wouldn't plan a trip just because of Mission: SPACE before August 15, but if you happen to be at WDW then, chances are fairly good that you will get to ride it then.
