Last year I rode MS for the first time. I thought it was pretty intense. This year of course there is a choice. The orange cards for the full ride and the green cards for the less intense ride. I rode the regular version with my son, and we both thought it was a bit more intense than last year. Has anyone else noticed this? I was wondering since they added the tamer version, perhaps they notched the other up a bit on the intensity level....not a lot, but noticeable. If last year was a nine, this year was a ten.
Comments? Other observations?

:lmao: I just rode it this past weekend and thought it was just as intense as always...I didn't notice any real difference...was even slightly queasy like usual!

DH and I rode it a few years ago in the first few weeks it was open to the public. In each of our subsequent trips we have always said that they must have made it more tame. It just has not been the same since those first several times we rode.

We will be there in a little over a week. I'll report back as to whether or not I think it has returned to what it once was.

It will be interesting to see/experience.

I didnt notice any difference. Actually it might have been even alittle more tame.

They did actually make it tamer than when it first opened. Too many people were complaining about being sick so they toned it down a little.

My son loved the original intense version. He hated it when they made it tamer. He'll be glad to have it back up to speed.

I, on the other hand, am glad to have the chicken version. :p

I rode the original version in June 06 and it did seem tamer than when I rode in 05, I noticed the difference right away. I also rode the non-spinning version afterwards, then went back to ride the spinning version again, I could hardly feel a difference.

They must have tamed it down more than I originally thought.

I think it's probably the same as always. It's just that the more you ride it, the more you get used it and you know what's going to happen next. The first time you ride it, you believe all the hype, then most people just get over it.

I am starting to think this as well. My DD 17 and I got to ride it during a preview back in June 2003 and we thought the intensity was pretty decent. We live 1 1/2 hours from Cedar Point which has some of the most intense coasters in the world and we thought Mission Space was right up there with them. Now that we have rode it several more times in the last couple of years, it just doesn't do much for us as far as intensity. It is still a unique ride and I enjoy it. Maybe it is just from riding it so many times, but whatever the cause, it is completly different than the first time we rode it.

I totally understand what you are saying but the buzz is that it has increased in intensity. Some folks are saying that they think it has been kicked up a notch since they are giving riders two options for their ride experience.
