My DH, DD8, DS5 and I were going to do Mission:Space. After going thru the pre-warm up and spinning was brought up, I opted out. My body doesn't handle too many thrill rides. DD8 opted out too. Now her and I do the TeaCups, but I won't let her spin me too fast. DH and DS5 don't do the Tea Cups so go figure. Anyway, I don't think DH was really paying attention and went with DS5. DH said as soon as they got buckled in with the harness thing that comes over your head, he knew they were in trouble. Neither was prepared for anything and I don't know if they closed their eyes or what. But both ended up feeling the effects later. DH was done for the night (it was about 5:00). We'd been to TL earlier, and looking back, we probably didn't drink enough water that day and DH and I shared an adult beverage in Mexico earlier, which does nothing for dehydration. DS perked up later. DH said he could see the fear in his son's eyes. So I just wanted to give you guys a heads up if you have younger children that meet the height requirement. Everyone knows their own kids the best.

On a brighter note, while DH and DS were riding, DD and I played mission controllers there. It was a lot of fun. We competed with another team using a "control panel" to fix errors and do tasks that happen on the mission. DD thought we were really controlling Daddy and brother's ride! Who am I to burst her bubble! I think you can go in thru the store then to the game room. We enjoyed it.

No, Mission:Space is not for everyone, but it is a completely AWESOME ride! I have been on it 2 times and DH and DD, three! The 1st time was a bit mindboggling, because we really didn't know what to expect, and my DD and DH said they felt a bit woozy afterward... I never had any ill effects. The 2nd time, because we were more prepared, we absolutely LOVED it! No ill effects for anyone!

If you try it once and are on the fence, give it another go! I think it is much better when you know what to expect!
