So Ive never been on Mission Space. My husband has but I dont trust his input on it lol ... My kids are 5 and 9 and I was thinking we'd all ride together. My daughter the 9 year old rides everything but hasn't this yet. My son is just now tall enough to ride a lot more but isn't afraid of much and rode tower or terror last trip. My question is how intense is the Green? Ive been reading that orange makes so many people sick and really intense. Is green a lot more mild? Do you spin. I really dont know what to expect. I do get nauseous in the car at times and if we spin to much in the tea cups I do.

I was SO NERVOUS to ride this! Its really not that bad, as long as enclosed spalces don't bother you. try to youtube the ride - i twill give you SOME of an idea of the interior

And no, id does'nt spin

I just rode this for the first time in a dozen trips because I was always worried it would make me sick. It wasn’t intense at all to me. I can’t speak for Orange but I will definitely ride Green again.

Green is extremely tame and should not cause any motion sickness at all. Avoid Orange. It is as bad as people say for people who have any predilection to motion sickness.

Never done Orange, but Green is totally tame. I was worried about the confined spaces thing as dh is really claustrophobic (we live in a high rise and he closes his eyes if the elevator is too crowded) but even he was basically like "it's just not that small."

I can't even ride the teacups-- I can do roller coasters, but anything that spins faster than Dumbo? Forget it.

I'm fine on Green. Have you been on Star Tours? It's similar-- but in a much smaller vehicle.

Up until this last trip, we've always done the Green side because I wasn't sure how my boys would handle it. The Green is definitely very tame and doable for anyone. It's a simulator, so you do "move" and feel like you're flying, but that's about it.

We did the Orange side this past November. This ride does spin, but it spins to create the G forces. You're enclosed, so it's not the same as the spinning tea cups. I can't do the teacups, but MS Orange didn't bother me like the spinning of teacups. It presses you back against your seat as you take off. I was ready for the pressure to end about 3-5 seconds before it actually did, but it didn't make me feel sick or anything. The weight-less feeling right after was pretty cool.

The pictures in this blog post may help you visualize it: http://amusementauthority.blogspot.com/2010/09/what-are-mechanics-of-mission-space-at.html

Ok, I can ride roller coasters no problem. Repetitive spin rides and VR rides can make me ill/dizzy. On the last trip I rode both Green and Orange. I felt queasy on Green but it was manageable. I didn't care to repeat it. My family then convinced me to try Orange and I thought i was going to DIE. I was literally crying while riding it and I think I scared my kids, lol.

Um, all that to say, yes, some people are affected by Green but I am guessing most are not. My son was 8 and hated ToT but loved both MS Green and Orange.

I found orange was Ok for me as long as I looked straight ahead and concentrated on the panel.I looked off the side one time and almost immediately started to get ill.never tried green but FOP got to me.

The green side was just updated and is now an earthbound mission. Still fun, same green side experience, not too bad unless you are claustrophobic

Yeah, the only issue with the green side is being enclosed in a small space. If you are even a little claustrophobic, you'll probably find this experience more stressful than fun.

Star Tours (and Body Wars) . I still have not done mission space as I am a wee bit nervous. I can’t do the tea cups. Or anything that spins. I can handle Soarin’ and Everest I was OK on but that was 5 years ago. I think it was more nerves then anything. I would love to try it but I am scared . Heck I want to do Superman at six flags. The height doesn’t bother me it’s the “am I going to puke from the pure anxiety I am having as we are going up up and up.”

Green isn't intense at all. As others have pointed out, as long as you don't mind sitting in an enclosed space, you should be fine. In order of intensity, I think I'd rank them: Mission Space:Green (lowest) -> Flight of Passage -> Star Tours -> Body Wars (no longer there) (highest). (Only have ridden FoP once, so I might flip-flop that with Star Tours...not sure yet)

I won't try orange, but did green for the first time last summer and it wasn't "intense" at all. I do get motion sick, and some simulators cause me issues - not this one. I don't think I'd bother doing it again, though - I found it kind of boring and the preshow took a long time.

I don't get sick on any ride, and the green side made me nauseous. I won't ride again, but I know most people are completely fine on this.

If you have claustrophobia issues, even the green version is a bad idea.

Agree 100% with this. It's a very mild ride, but when that door closes, my heart races. Once it starts, I'm fine. But as I get older, I get more claustrophobic and I don't think I'll ever do it again. I remember waiting for it to start - which seems to take forever for me - and my family talking to me and I said "Just be quiet." They couldn't understand why I was so testy. I was just freaking out a bit. :)
