I'm leaving for WDW on Friday. In the past, I didn't even consider riding Mission Space. Now I'm thinking that I might try the green side. Keep in mind that I am a ride chicken. I don't even like Test Track, but I may try it again this trip. I can ride Star Tours. I don't love it, but I can ride it. How does Mission Space Green compare to Star Tours?

The green side is a go for all chickens!

The green side is fun and enjoyable without all the extra stuff. No motion sickness on this side.

The green side is much less intense, as you don't get the feeling of being pushed back into your seat during the launch or the weightless feeling as you get out into space. The ending is a little bumpy but not exceptionally so. The visuals are spectacular. I think you can do it!

About the only thing you may need to worry about with Green is the confined space. This attraction--either side--is not for the claustrophobic.

I think it has a similar feel to star tours. I was a chicken about it for years because I was afraid I would get sick on it, but I have no problem with it . Now you won't catch me setting foot on the orange though!

Exactly. Claustrophobia is the only main concern.

I third this! If you are at all claustrophobic, this is one to skip.

~Mission Space Green is so boring. OMG, when I think of the years I've wasted on Green because I was too afraid to try Orange! Anyway, MS Green just tilts back and back forth a few times. Honestly, the pre ride instruction video was the most terrifying part of the ride for me. With that said, I do think it's best to give Green a try first, especially before Orange. And, I do like that Green gives everyone an opportunity to experience the ride without the spinning motion. Have fun! :goodvibes

If you can ride Star Tours you can go on Mission Space green. It's a pretty tame motion simulator.
You are in a small space so if that bothers you, you should skip it.

There's hope for me yet....I think I may be able to do this "green" version of Mission Space, yay! On our last visit, they only had the spinning version  so I sat on a bench....forever... and waited....and waited, whilst my dd and dh went on the ride four times. :scared1:

My oldest daughter wants to try this, so I might go for the green side. Not sure I'll ever work up the courage for Orange (although I don't get motion sickness, so I'm not sure why I'm so worried about trying it).

Go try green. It's really not intense at all. Just a big tight quarters but that you have at orange as well. Green doesn't do the heavy centrifuge that orange does, so you don't get to experience the Gs that the people in orange do.

We didn't know what the difference between orange and green was when we first rode. When the CM asked us "orange or green?" we were like.... "let's take orange, the line is shorter!" We thought it was two completely different rides, kinda like parallel coasters. When we went on green to experience the parallel ride, we were so disappointed :lmao:

We're also the people who like to flip switches and push buttons. We're totally into the experience when we get there. So when you go and get your assigned position, listen to what you need to do when. There's nothing different if you don't do it, but we think it's neat if you follow the instructions. So if they tell you to push button A, you push button A! We once were seated with an elderly couple from Brazil. They looked at us like we were complete bonkers! :lmao:

So Green is mellow enough for those who get motion sickness? Unfortunately I haven't ridden Star Tours yet so I have nothing to compare it to, but I will be next Saturday for the first time.

I do get motion sickness when I read in a car, plane or train but I take the 24-hour Dramamine and that works wonders for me. DD15 is the same way. Will we be able to handle MS Green?

I LOVE Star Tours but this ride (rode green) was the most horrible experience I've ever had. It made me sick for hours and I had palpitations for an hour. It was the worst thing ever. If you are at all concerned about motion sickness or claustrophobia I wouldn't ride it. It was not enjoyable at al.

I'm not one that usually gets motion sickness, I'll ride pretty much anything, but when I rode MS: Orange, I damn near lost my lunch. The tight space wasn't really a problem for me, but I'd definitely go Green if you get motion sick.

Agreed - Green is no biggie at all but orange had me holding back my lunch & I was surprised. I have no motion sickness issues, can ride the teacups over & over with only slight dizziness that fades quickly.

For years we have only ridden green because DH gets terribly sick on spinny rides and we didn't want to leave him out. On our last trip we decided to give orange just one chance since DD was dying to try & I'd been wanting to as well.... having needled & harrassed DH forever about skipping it.

But riding MS:Orange I wondered if I'd actually have to use one of the barf bags.

I am not claustraphobic in anything I fly elevators no problem I road the green side and I was paniced it was really tight I am sad but will never be able to ride it again it was so bad on our flight home I started to have flash backs and freak out I pulled it together but that ride really did a number on me lol

This.^^^ I've ridden the two sides back-to-back and didn't notice a huge difference. The extra G-forces on the orange side made it more fun. It's the same confined space, though.

Okay, you've convinced me I can continue to skip this ride, even the green side! :moped:
