Mission Space Good or Bad?

My husband loves all thrill rides, the more thrills the better. We did MS not too long after it opened. He said once is enough. He actually felt pressure in his chest and we both think that saying MS in intense is an understatement.

I've been with this man for 40 years and this is the only attraction (ride) I've ever known him to back away from.

I didn't have any problems with it and I enjoyed the ride very much (as well as the Space Race game you can play in the exit area). However, I wait until after I ride it before I have anything to eat!

I rode it 3 times in one day, but we waited at least an hour between the rides as it does take a little bit of time for your equilibrium to get back to normal.

I never, ever, and I mean never, get sick to my stomach on rides. It took all of the strength (and mental power) that I have ever had in my entire body not to puke on that hideous, beast of a ride. Why Gary Sinise? Why?

ok, Im taking notes here...I've been to other thrill ride related sites and Im seeing a trend.

With obvious exceptions, after reading many, many people's thoughts on the subject:

The people who often go on big thrill rides and enjoy them tend to feel ill after going on M:S. People that don't usually go on big thrill rides seem to be ok with M:S...

ok, this is officially the strangest attraction I've ever seen. :confused3

I liked the ride but when my DS9 said, 'Let's go again!" I had to say no. I could tolerate it all fine once, it was unique and exciting, but definately a once a trip experience.

I HATE Mission Space.

Not because it made me feel feel sick, but because of the very tight space once those bars come down over your shoulders and the control panel comes right to your face.

It is not a ride for anyone even slightly claustrophobic.

:bounce: O.k. people, I have another question for you all... Mission Space what do you think of the ride? My friend was just at Disney in December, and it was her first time on mission space, she said she thought if the ride would have went on any longer she would have gotten sick, and when the ride was over she had to sit and rest. Her son, said it was ok, but he wouldn't do it again. Also, she didn't close her eyes or try to lean forward- she followed the directions they gave. So I wanted to try that ride, but I really don't want to get sick. So, if you rode the ride, let me know what you think. please!

Thanks! :Pinkbounc

I can get sick on a merry-go-round but I finally got up enough nerve on the last trip to ride MS.....I loved it and actually rode it 2 times in a row. I think the warnings in the line que can actually make you sick with nervousness, and I almost bailed right at the last chance to do so but I did it and was so glad I did. You just have to keep your head back and stare at the screen and you should be fine.

I suffer motion sickness, and slight tachycardia (sp?) but was fine on Mission space. We love it and go on numerous times in a row. :thumbsup2

I love it and so does my DH who doesn't do coasters or even Splash. We dont go to Epcot without riding it. I have ridden it a couple of times in an hour and don't mind it. My DH won't eat anything before we go on but I don't mind it. The feel of the ride on your stomach is very comparable to a gravatron from fairs and as a child I would sit in one of those for hours doing ride after ride.

I really thought the Mission Space was awsome. I love big thrill rides and this is one of my favorites. I didn't feel very sick when I got off it either.
