I'm curious... what happens on Mission Space if you don't "do your job" and press the buttons when Gary Sinise instructs you to?

Nothing really, the lights and the sound effects that say good job won't go off, but your mission is still completed. :thumbsup2

I noted this the first time I rode M:S back when it opened.

A kid missed his "cue" and...

A female voice says, "Computer Override".

The event then takes place in a timely manner...

And your craft is spared, yet again, from an untimely end.

:thumbsup2

LoL, i've read a number of times about people riding with people that didn't speak a word of english so they just press buttons to their hearts content. So no, nothing different happens if the buttons aren't pressed... you fly the same and land the same.

One time, my dad and I were on with these two foriegn guys, and they didn't press their buttons, and they went off on their own.

They can still be seen on moonlit nights, slowly circling Space Ship Earth, trying to grab hold of that giant Mickey hand.

Its kind of sad, but hey, when Lieutenant Dan says "push"... you'd better just PUSH!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Thanks! You made my night!

I understand that there are still Disney guests in space waiting to grab the brass ring !

I don't think anything happens. On our last trip... It was just Me, My daughter and my hubby. That left an extra seat for the navigator. When it came time for the navigator's part, my hubby reaches over and pushes the button each time. :rotfl2: I tell him nothing happens if you don't. But he said he just had to... Just in case.. :Pinkbounc

Your husband must have watched "LOST" one too many times!! :happytv:

My husband is like a little kid in there. Both of our buttons got punched a bunch of times and nothing happened!

I work in the Combat Information Command on a Coast Guard Cutter, so I push all the buttons and flip all the switches since I can't do it at work.

My daughter and I were in line to ride Mission Space for the second time and we were talking about not pushing our buttons to see what would happen and this teenager looked at us and just shook his head like we were losers. I thought he was a loser but guess what--it's the same ride whether you push the buttons or not. Needless to say, we were both a little disappointed.

I slammed my control stick forward when he told me not to move a muscle.

Nothing happened. I was sad that my job as pilot was pretty much pointless.

On his first ride on M:S, my then-6 year old DS couldn't reach his button, and he started freaking out because he thought that he was jeopardizing the mission. He started yelling, "I can't reach my button! I can't reach my button!" I pushed it for him and then explained after the ride was over that the computer knows what to do even if he doesn't push his button. Even if it spoiled a little of the magic, he was relieved to learn that the fate of the mission and its crew did not really depend on a 6 year old's ability to push a button at just the right time!

One time a guy didn't push it and after the ride two secret service types came and took him away. Never heard from him again! Push the button.

Thanks for the replies.

Darn, I was hoping something would happen if you 'failed the mission'. :(

yah nothing happens, one time it was only my uncle, my dad, and me and there was no fourth person so we just well didnt have an engineer = )
