Mission Space - failing the "mission"???

Oh, these are all a riot! Thanks everyone! I rode the "less intense" (non-hurling) one earlier this month having never ridden the "intense" one in the past, and it was night EMH. It was me and two Japanese tourists who did not speak a word of English, so there were only three on the "mission" that time. They didn't have a clue that they were supposed to push anything. The computer just said "computer override" when no one pushed the buttons at the right time. When I pushed mine (having understood Gary Sinese's words), it flashed lights and that was kind of cool. I loved this ride and look forward to doing it again, but it is nice to know that if someone does not push the button, we'll still end up back on Earth where I can see my loved ones again. :)

They can still be seen on moonlit nights, slowly circling Space Ship Earth, trying to grab hold of that giant Mickey hand.

Its kind of sad, but hey, when Lieutenant Dan says "push"... you'd better just PUSH!
Too funny :rotfl:

My DS and DH will never let me (or anyone else) forget my experience with the buttons on M:S. I was soooo sick I thought that if I could concentrate on pushing the buttons -- maybe I wouldn't feel so bad. But I was so disoriented I couldn't even find the controls. I was like a little kid after having been spun around for "Pin the Tail on the Donkey". DH and DS thought it was hilarious and like to repeat the story to anyone who'll listen.

This thread has really made me laugh! But I have to say, wouldn't it be cool if Disney rigged it so that if you didn't push your button, or pull back on your joystick, something different would happen? Like, maybe in one scenario you could crash over the canyon wall, in another you might crash into an asteroid but come out okay, etc. Could they do that? Kinda like TOT, that way you never know what might happen on the ride. That would make me ride it again!

Oh, I could just see the situations this would create! I'd be on there with some over-zealous person who really wanted to do everything "just right," and I didn't push my button or pull up on my joystick and made us "crash" over a canyon wall, and then this co-occupant mission zealot would be in my face screaming. LOL! Of course, that might provide its own entertainment, too. :)
