I can't ride the Teacups, but can't imagine NOT riding Missiom Space at least once. Is there anyone who CAN'T ride the teacups, but has been able to ride Mission Space okay in the soft opening?

Thats a very good question. I hope someone who has been on both can share their experience.

This is what I need to know too! I can't imagine not riding MS, but I don't want to spend an entire day feeling sick from doing it!;)

Yes me.....My family does the teacups every year without me because I get green.....They did MS without me and at the exit the CM talked me into trying it she said keep your head looking straight ahead during the ride. Only look at the screen in front of you and the swich panel. I did and did NOT get sick at all. I can not do anything that spins. Even a carosel can make me dizzy. I did it and loved it. I suggest to do it but keep you head straight. It was a blast. I loved it..........

I can't do tea cups and body wars. I can do all coasters, ToT, RnR, and star tours fine. I didn't embarass myself, but I was just as green on mission space as tea cups and body wars. Did it once, got the t-shirt, won't be doing it again.

Personally, I found there to be very little of a "spinning"
sensation on M:S. If you focus on the screen and keep
your head back against the head rest, you should only
feel the g-forces, bumps, turns, shimmies and shakes.
(By the way, the shimmies and shakes are smooth,
not herky-jerky like Body Wars or Star Tours).

I think M:S is an incredible experience and top notch
attraction.

I do not enjoy the teacups but will ride them (for my kids sake). I have ridden Mission Space twice and it is not even comparable. You do not feel any spinning at all as long as you keep your eyes OPEN and head back. Do not close your eyes because if you do, you will feel the spinning....take if from someone who did just that. There's a portion of the ride where they put you into 'deep space' sleep and I pretended to play along and began to close my eyes....well I could start to feel the spinning and I quickly opened my eyes. Once my eyes were open, the spinning sensation dissapated.

Mission Space is extremely cool....the lift-off is a riot! You have to try it at least once.

I've gotten sick from the teacups (not horribly, not enough to go back to the room).

I did M:S twice this week. The first time, I was absolutely fine, no problem whatsoever. Yesterday, it made me sick the rest of the day (again, not enough to stop touring) and gave me a slight headache. Both times I looked straight ahead, yadda, yadda, yadda.

I would still suggest doing it once! It's a fabulous ride! Maybe make sure you're feeling OK going into it. I was starting to feel a little icky, so maybe it had nothing to do with M:S.

I'm wondering about taking my daughter on MS - she'll be 8 then. She's done ToT, Space, Splash and Big Thunder Mountains, Star Tours, and loves teacups. I'm guessing she'll be okay on Space. What does everyone else think?

I think she will probably love MS, Steve, if she enjoys Space Mountain.

I'm looking forward to experiencing Mission Space, can't wait to see what it is like. I don't suffer motion sickness ever, hope it works the same way with this ride :)

I'm another one who can't do Teacups (especially with my DH who insists on spinning the cup so fast I think it's going to fling out over the castle!) I rode MS two weeks ago and was absolutely fine. I did experience some wobbliness when I got off, not nauseous at all or dizzy but for about 5 minutes I felt like I couldn't quite walk in a straight line. I should also mention that I am fine on Star Tours and TOT but can't handle anything that goes backwards or spins me around and around.
MS is awesome and should be experienced at least once!

Steve......My daughter did it twice in a row and she is 9........And loved it......

And you do realize that Disney's teacups are limited in their spin speed? I've ridden teacups at non-Disney parks that can be spun far faster than Disney's. You'd really love those. LOL
