Mission Space and motion sickness? Yes or No

Thanks all!! Didn't even think about the claustrophobic part...my daughter is really not a fan of tight places (she's been like that since she was little). I think we will pass on this again. Thanks for all the truthful info! :thanks:

I get motion sick rocking side to side and did not find that to be the issue when we rode the "light" side a few years ago. However, I am very claustrophobic and stupidly ignored the signs along the queue warning about tight spaces because when I saw the seats and the wall in front of them, I thought it looked OK for me.

I did NOT know that when you sit down, the wall comes forward (seats move up?). I don't know which but that space gets a LOT smaller. It got pretty ugly... I kept my head down with my eyes closed and breathed (ok, cried) through it, but it was hands down my worst Disney memory. I'm sharing this in the event your daughter may be like me... it may be worth skipping

:crazy2: I did the "less intense" but won't ride again. It's still jerky and very claustrophobic. My kids would ride it all day though.

Everyone's different but most likely Orange will make you sick but Green should not unless your claustrophobic.

On the Green side, is it comparable to a simulator ride such as Star Tours? Or jerky in some other way?

If you like Star Tours then ride it on the green side, if you don't like Star Tours don't do it.

I avoided it for years scared to death it would make me sick as a dog. I don't do well on the tea cups. DD was 7 and she and DH guilted me into at least trying it once. To my surprise, I loved it. I love Star Tours, and to me they have a very similar feel. I was also worried about the tight space based on the reports I had heard, but it didn't seem that bad to me. Yes you are closed in, but you still have the side space of everyone next to you (4 in a pod), so while from front to back is a small space you can still see down the length on each side. I was bummed that I had been missing it for all those years!

DH and I did it awhile back when they didn't have the second less hellish option. We will never do this ride again. My husband doesn't get motion sickness and I only have issues with reading while in the backseat of a car. But this took us out for 2 hours, I'm not even gonna describe what happened after we ate lunch. Watch out!

I'm lucky never have had motion sickness. I've also trained to handle 7.5 g's on a regular basis so this ride is a easy thrill.

I get a bit motion sick on mission space, but no so bad that I won't ride it. I skip it unless someone in my group wants to go. To me star tours is much worse and I won't ride it. The star tours vehicles get very warm during the ride, and there is no air moving in there. Mission space has cool air moving around your head which makes all the difference for me.

I get motion sickness and occasional vertigo and am also plus sized. I've never had a problem on the less intense side at all. I enjoyed it but it isn't something that I'd wait in line for. The intense side is a ride I refuse to go on as I'm afraid of ruining the rest of our day.
