Mission Impossible II-Updated p.15 #212~ The last day of our mini surprise trip.

DH & I had thought about doing Typhooin Lagoon when we were there in Sept, but never got there. :confused3 I guess because I didn't plan it ahead of time, we never did it.

Can't wait to hear all about it!

I'm still here too, Mony!!!!!!! I hadn't checked for a few days, but was pleasantly surprised to find your update.

I haven't been to a Disney water park in ages. I love floating in the lazy river.

I'm still debating whether to finish out my December trip at Pop. Your photos made me miss being there :) I still have my ressie there for the last few days. I may move over from the Dolphin since I'll be solo at that point and it'll save me some $$ plus allow me to take ME to the airport for my trip home.

Hey Monica

Im still here :thumbsup2 Great report so far - I have never seen so much rain (Your son did look quite happy to be paddling in it though - must be a boy thing!) :rotfl:

Hi Gayle! I really miss you. I hope to see you around more. Thanks for stopping by.

Minnie Moo and DisneyGalUK! Thanks for coming over as well.

Moo we need to exchange itineraries for Dec. to figure out a chance to get together.

Everybody Ready?

Then on with the show!

I just got my photo-pass CD the other day, so I have lot's of pics to share with you all!

Here's one from Magic Kingdom before the storm:

image0005.jpg

Getting off the buses with all of our stuff is really an accomplishment. The four kids, us, 2 back packs, a soft small cooler, that double stroller, and the sinking feeling you are going to forget something.

But I didn’t this time (remember my camera and video recorder last trip!).
We got there about 10:20ish. I don’t have a clue what happened to the time. Whether it ticked away while we were waiting for the bus or it took us longer get our groves going on, I just don’t know. There was barely a crowd at the gate and I was hopeful.

Until the winding path lead us to the wave pool area and the beaches were just packed. Oh well. We’ll manage. After all it’s a brilliant hot sunny day and I know I’m not the only one who was thinking what a great day for Typhoon Lagoon.

But as we wondered there were lots of open areas with empty chairs. I'd soon realize why the wave pool area is so crowded.

We made it to Ketchakiddie Creek and found an Umbrella and chairs and set up camp. You know, we put some chairs in a circle, threw some towels here and there and some T-shirts and I left Maddies’ diaper I just changed on one of them to seal the deal. pirate:

It was only a wet one, but no one else would really know for sure right? I read about doing that somewhere. And it was wrapped up, so it wasn’t getting anything dirty. Plus I was just seeing if anyone would bother with it. No one did and the first time I can back I threw it out.:lmao:

There’s just something about touching someone elses kids diaper that’s soiled that gives you the heebie jeebies.

Today for example we ate out, and of course Mal had to go potty and for some reason this place keeps there toilet paper rolls in a large container on the floor. Someone threw their kids dirty diaper in it on top of the rolls. I just couldn’t reach in there and grab it out. Who knows how it was taken off. Plus I’m glad we won’t be eating there for a while cause I don’t even want to think about using the TP there. Reminder to grab napkins before I go in next time.

The plan was the boys were gonna go off and conquer some slides. I had the girls and we were splashing around the creek. Which is really cool.

Mal was in her glory. The baby was making her own fun too. I had no problem sitting down in the 1-2 foot deep areas with the baby and just keeping cool. There really is so much to do here for little ones. Tons of shooting guns and a water fall, slides, and a pirates ship.

I followed Mal around everywhere.

Then as I was walking buy with a baby in my arms some kid attacks me with a huge stream of water.

In the face.

And the baby's.

I got out of his reach and said a few words. I didn't yell, but, come on. This kid was plenty old enough to know better to do that to a baby. She was fine, just a little surprised. She loves the water. If it were just me, I would have sucked it up, but not when my precious baby is in my arms do you do that.

Then I discovered the photo pass guy. I asked him to follow Mal around a bit. He was so nice and he did and got some great shots of the girls.

There really were alot of great shots!

We took breaks to hydrate and re-lotion our selves. It was turning into a very hot and sunny day. Totally made up for yesterday’s soaking.

The boys came back to camp. I showed him the photo-pass armband I had and he showed me his.

Cool. We had a lot of catching up to do with the photo-pass people. We only got a few pictures from our rained out Magic Kingdom day.

I made the boys apply more lotion, drink some fluids, and they lead me to Crush and Gusher.

I’m always nervous about riding something for the first time. They informed me I had to ride in the back, Matt up front and Zack in the middle. Matt and I carried the tube up the stairs. Zach has height issues, but not as bad as me. He just has to hold on while going up the stairs.

He was like that as a little boy. Those metal mesh like bridges on play-scapes really freaked him out. He had to shuffle along taking the littlest steps.

We get to the top and hope on. I managed as gracefully as it was possible to get on the tube without making a scene, the boys were all on, the CM gives us the go sign and I start screaming!

And screaming and screaming and screaming. It’s all part of having fun. And really feeling like that little girl in the Disney commercial playing with her kid as a kid.

Except, I can’t really be a kid, but I can act like one.

I asked if they wanted to do it again and they said, “Only if you don’t scream. You sound like a mad woman.”

When we got back up, they said to the CM, “Did you hear my mom scream? She replied, “Yes, I could hear her screaming all the way down.”

That was my cue to do again and louder. Cause I’m a nice mom like that.:cool2:

I was having fun with the boys and that’s all that mattered.

Next they took me to the wave pool.

WOW! I could spend an entire day there, and so could Matt. He loves this.
They have one like it at Michigan Adventures and we had to drag him out of it.

This is not for little ones, very rough and it really moves you. You can and most likely will get a foot, elbow, or some kind of body part from a complete stranger jabbed into some part of your body once or ten times. Consider yourself warned.

I say bring it!

You can hang out in the shallow end if you are timid or you can tread water in the deep end and worry your kids to no end and then amaze them with your mad body surfing skillz like I did.

Or you can land on top of one and hold them under for a few seconds unintentionally like I did as well.:confused3

I was feeling a little guilty about all the fun we were having so we headed back to camp and met up with Tim and the girls.

Had lunch. It was just counter service lunch and not much to mention except that when ordering Zack was unhappy with what he could pick from, so I gave him my adult order choice and took from the kids option, just for peace.

The cashier added a touch of pixie dust and included meal that she heard Zack wanted. Without using up a free dining credit.

Matt just wanted to hit the wave pool, so camp was moved to the wave pool.

They have a sitting area that the small waves can reach and just wet you enough to feel refreshed, which the girls loved, and the boys could play and we could watch them.

Tim and I took turns in the water mosh pit with the boys and realized that it was getting close to leaving so we could make our ADR at 1900 Park Fare for dinner.

The boys wanted to do Crush and Gusher one last time, which they did.

Twice.

And we headed out.

Happy.

Up Next time: One of our happiest places in the world, and these two really need to get a room.

Mony, sounds like a fabulous day. So happy it went better than the day before.

LOVE the pictures!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for a great update :thumbsup2

Great update Mony!

I have never been to the Disney water parks. That looks like a lot of fun. Plus I didn't know that they had Photopass folks there too. What great pics you got! :cool2: Sounds like it was a marvelous day. Thanks again for sharing with all of us.

Looks like there was plenty of sunshine to make up for all that rain on the previous day. :cool2:

I love to scream and embarrass my kids on rides, but now they're 18 and 20, they do it right back to me.

And have Mickey and Minnie been at it again?

Wonderful photos, Mony!

BUT. I'm kind of glad they didn't have Photopass back when I visited the water parks.

I just found your TR report a little while ago. I can't wait to read more.

Monica - just caught up with your TR. Typhoon Lagoon sounds like fun. We went to Blizzard Beach and they kind of seem the same in a little bit sort of way. I remember my boys were 5 and almost 3 and we stayed in the tot section all day too. I sat myself down in about 6 inches of water and watched them play. It was great. They did go on some slide things but mostly they just liked sitting in the water and playing.

Their cameras are protected and they are walking through the water along with everyone else.

I wish that were all................talk about being uncomfortable and with you kids...............

We've been to both and we seem to like Typhoon Lagoon a little bit more.
Infact, we are sad that it will be under rehab when we go back in Dec.

I've neglected this long enough and since we leave for the 10-day in 2 weeks, I need to take care of this.

That's my plan for today.

Monica,
Loving your TR-- and you're so close to your next one!!!

Congratulations on your DH's great test results. We are dealing with metastasized breast cancer with my mom and it sucks. Seriously sucks. I hope Tim remains cancer free!!

Thank you. Is there a cancer sucks club?

He is being monitored by several doctors. It's the next 5 years that I understand are the tricky.

We're actually 6 years out, but mom's cancer has metastasized to her bones, lungs, and liver. I know we've gotten a lot of years, but my kids are 7 and 4 and we're definitely not ready to let her go.

I hope you hear those magic words -- cancer free -- soon.

Okay, so, this is not a cancer board, so I'll say this -- WDW is a great place to celebrate your family!!

Love your trippie...

This evening we were heading to 1900 Park Fare. Our favorite place to dine. Just for a brief moment I walk around the GF pretending that we are staying there.

We have experienced Cinderella, Prince Charming and the mice, but not the step sisters and the step mother. We were pretty excited.

ugust2008022.jpg

The step sister's really put on an act. I don’t want to spoil anything for those waiting to dine here. I love the bantering back and forth and the sibling rivalry between the step sisters. The step mother is totally in character as well.
ugust2008020.jpg

I felt sorry for Cinderella. She seemed to be part of the warm up band.

ugust2008023.jpg

Maddy wasn't too hip on the characters.

Malorie got her special attention since it was her birthday. They brought out her cake and special princess birthday crown.

ugust2008024.jpg

Please adjust your volume before watching this video cause I can't sing a note to save my life, but for all of my dedicated readers, I expose myself here for your enjoyment. Please be nice................that means you nebo.

I thought the high light would have been when prince charming came along and knelt down to wish her a happy birthday, nope.

ugust2008025.jpg

Anastasia, is now the next best thing in our house.

ugust2008021.jpg

What's not to love?

Malorie came home from the trip and colored lots of pictures so she can take them back and give them to Anastasia.

She wanted to be Anastasia for Halloween.

Forget about the Belle dress she has, or the 2 Ariel dresses she has, or even the CINDERELLA dress she has.

Mal was bitten by the “We are BFF’s” bug and that’s all we ever hear.

Anastasia told Mal that they could really be best friends.

Don’t tell her that I can’t get a ressie to 1900 Park Fare. I’ve been calling dining for months, two even three times a day and they are completely booked.

Hang on, I gotta call them again………..nope still booked.

I want to know how EVERYONE found out about my little secret of the best time to go to Disney. I was told last week not a single room was available for most of December on property.

This ought to be an interesting vacation.

We had a marvelous dinner. Matt once again was taken care of. The chef made him his own personal pizza with NO SAUCE. I don’t give him any slack for that cause he has to put up with enough as it is. Allergies to peanuts, eggs, peas, and his ADD and stuff.

Their prime rib was excellent this night and Zach and I discovered these wonderful chocolate desserts. The food there is always excellent, but the menu does change. We had our hearts hopeful for the shrimp alfredo, but it wasn’t offered this day. If you haven’t eaten here, there are so many choices and a variety of different cuisines.

Hope I said that right.

It was getting late, dinner was over and I wanted to walk around the Grand Floridian. It’s so beautiful. We headed for the pier and I hoped that Magic Kingdom was closing soon so we could watch the fireworks. We found a bench at the end of the pier, but apparently this night was a later closing time.

The water pagent did start to go by and we were able to see this.

I remember as a young girl when my family stayed at the contemporary watching this and it was such a treat for me to stay up late waiting for this show while my baby sister was asleep. Ah memories.

About this time, a couple sitting on a bench in front of us were oblivious to the fact that my family, including young children, were sitting on a bench behind them.

Not only were we there, but several other families standing around as well.

I’m guessing that they were newlyweds on their honeymoon. They had a champagne bottle and glasses on their bench. They were consistently making out and their hands were all over each other. They were talking only to each other, laughing, smiling, and IN LOVE. I remember that feeling BC (before children).

Good thing the mosquitoes were horrible that night and chased us out of there or I would have had to have a certain conversation with my boys. I got this really nice shot of the view of magic kingdom from the Grand Floridan at night though….....…:rolleyes1

ugust2008027-1-1.jpg

We left the peep show and hopped on the monorail to the Magic Kingdom to catch a bus back to the resort.

Up next: Animal Kingdom: Animal Spotting, Good deeds, and baby swapping

Great update, Mony!

I am amazed that someone thought of casting the step-sisters/mom at a Character dinner. I mean, really! I never really know about it till I read it in trip reports.

And that Mal loved her, LOL!

That picture of the baby is adorable. Poor little thing being so scared!

Great update. And as for the singing: I've heard worse.

You have a lovely voice Monica!

I hope the honeymooners are also DISers and stumble upon this ;)

I love 1900 Park Fare too! The best part is pretending you're staying there (which I do NOT pull off). :thumbsup2
