Mission: Eat churro's till i explode with cinnamon sugary goodness

Disclaimer:. i don't guarantee this pre trp/trip report to be interesting and or humerous in any sense. As i am a boring, rambling person of sorts. Oh yah and i fail at english so expect run on sentances, comma splices and all that fun stuff!

Prologue:
I love disney that and i love pooh bear. I have a stuffed pooh bear but don't let that fool you. He is in fact very real and he is the original pooh bear (only in stuffed form to throw you all off) he talks to me at night and tells me about how he and walt were great friends. How when he was a young bear he sold the copyrights of his name and all that to walt for a pot of hunny. He doens't regret it though so he's very happy living in my bedroom with his friends (yes i own the stuffed versions of all his best friends except for piglet ;_;) So that brings to light why as the title of this trippie. I am on a mission to find a stuffed piglet for pooh bear. As he tosses and turns at night and mumbles "piglet...piglet" from time to time.

Anyways my dear b/f of one whole year! *applause* basically threw around the idea of taking me to disneyland for my christmas/anniversary present. I didn't really think much of it in the begining cause well. He's mean to me sometimes and jokes around with me a lot so i didn't want to get my hopes up. Well as christmas grew nearer he became more persistant about the idea, actually throwing around dates in which we would go. He was thinking about a 3 day, two night getaway to disneyland. He works alot and has a hard time requesting days off so i still didnt' think too much about it.

So anyways fast forward a couple weeks, flight centre had a deal. $359 dollars for 3 nights at the castle inn and suites + airfare per person. Now that sounds like a might good deal. Throw in the fact that everyone plays at kids' price. He was sold. So he started moving stuff around finding out which days he could get off etc and came up with this. He would HAVE to work on friday, so we'd fly early in on saturday and then spend sun, mon there and fly back late on tuesday. Now while i was flipping through some brochures i noticed that certain hotels had 4th night free. So i immediatly called up dbf and casually mentioned flying in on friday night and then spending the free night and then we could spend 3 full days at disney. He eventually agreed to this plan, so off it was to flightcentre for me for a quote!

I skipped/walked/ran to flight centre the next day and talked to a very nice lady named lauren. We joked, we laughed, she gave me the trip for free. *swish back into reality* Okay so it didnt' go that way, actually it was pretty far from that. She informed me that they were getting very booked up and there was basically 4 rooms left at the hotel, and 4 seats left on the flight we wanted both ways. Essentially "book now or your screwed" Now i don't know if this was a marketing ploy or not but all i know was that faster than you can say "WHAT YOUR NOT GOING TO DISNEYLAND?!?!?!?!" I was on the phone with dbf and convincing him to book now. So 10 minutes later, he was double checking with his boss and then called me back and gave me the Okay to go book it. Yay!!! So i did. About 30 minutes later, i had basically spent 1682 dollars of dbf's money and in exchange gotten 4 nights and best western pavillions, airfare from alaska, supershuttle vouchers and 3 day park hopper tickets. Oh and travel insurance, which dbf didn't kill me for but um yeah we paid 152 dollars for insurance instead of the 20 bucks that dbf would of gotten from bcaa. Cause I DIDNT" KNOW!!! i assumed it was sold as part of the package, but apparently it was optional. :rolleyes1 Oh yah and the other little thing i didnt' tell him about was, the 4th night free promotion, the lady had no clue what i was talking about...so long story short we paid for that fourth night. And on top of that he managed to get friday off so we got an earlier flight.

So now the plan is this:
Friday Jan 26th: 12:15pm flight to anaheim, Supershuttle to best western pavillions. Pick up the park hoppers from will call/ticket booth. Eat at DTD and shop.

Saturday Jan 27th: Disneyland, hopefully we'll hit all of these rides, Peter pan, winnie the pooh, alice, matterhorn and other fantasyland rides, the off too DCA in the afternoon for soaring, california screaming and lunch, then back to Disneyland for more rides, and hopefully Wishes and fantasmic.

Sunday Jan 28th: Disneyland and DCA again, Rides that we've missed or want to do again, hoping to catch a couple shows, the parade for sure. Get dbf a birthday button cause his bday is on the 22nd. And if i can i want to get him a bucket!

Monday Jan 29th: Last day at disney, slow day, taking it all in. Meet and Greet chars, ride our favorite rides.

Tuesday Jan 30th: Our flight is scheduled for 9pm so we need to be there 3 hours prior, get picked up by the supershuttle. Probably hang around DTD

That is the plan folks, thought right now dbf wants to go somewhere else...like universal for a day and do the last day on tuesday. But um i'm going to pout and whine my way into getting three full days at disney.

The Cast:

Me (21): Luves Disney, acts like a four year old at times. My favorite disney movies are basically ALL of them but i do particularily love the princesses. Beauty and the beast, cinderella, little mermaid, snow white, sleeping beauty. I've watched most of the classics and know almost all the songs. I can sing "offkey" and i do the actions to winnie the pooh songs. Pooh bear is my current favorite silly ole bear. This will be my first real trip to disney, as the last one happened more than 10 years ago and involved one day, a lot of relatives and doing nothing that i wanted.

DBF (27): Has been to disney several times including the world. But i assume with family/friends. He hasn't been there in a couple years and is looking forward to this vacation. He works hard and is respected at his workplace. So they don't know the silly childish side to him. I belive that he will enjoy disney and he's really looking forward to basically making me happy and watching me enjoy disney. He's a keeper just for that.

Us as a couple: Together we let the kid in us out. He taunts me and i taunt him back. We end disputes with tickling fights and headbutts. I throw a tantrum, he'll throw one right back. It's a loving and fun relationship. We can also be very serious and work through problems together, reasoning with each other. but mostly having fun. He talks to me like i'm a child, and i'll talk like a child to him. We're wierd like that, but that's how we work and so far it's working out very well.

Material things we want to posess and food we want to devour:
Churros with churros with churros and churros with a churro topping.
A stuffed piglet for pooh bear
Bread bowl soups from pacific warf
The Monte crisco
Anything mickey shaped
Anthing related to pooh bear candy wise, ie tigger tails

That pretty much sums up everything, in 5 days i'll be in the land of the mouse. Thanks for reading my pre trip report. And i will not apologize for my lack of grammer and rambling as i did previously state it in the disclaimer and you read all this on your own accord.

Poohbear, I thought that was pretty humorous. You should be proud of yourself. Well done!

You had me at churros! I love them and i have to eat them all the time there. Here's to hoping all of your churros are warm and never break in half unless you want them to!

Sound like you've got a great bf. You will have a fabulous time and can't wait to hear your post trip report when you get back!

:goodvibes Thanks azmickeyfan. I love churro's they are so delish! I plan to eat many a churro. I wish there was somewhere other than disneyland that i could get one though.

Costco! If you have a membership they have churros at the food service counter. Nice and warm with tons of cinnamon and sugar.

The costco by my place, did have churro's for only about 1-2 months though. Then they got rid of it, i guess me buying a churro every week wasn't enough for them. :sad2:

Wheee, off to a fun start! Though I'm not sure if your reference to "The Monte crisco" is a typo, a Freudian slip, or perhaps a humorous rename of that fatty sandwich everyone loves so much? Either way, it was darn funny! :rotfl:

Thanks alex2kmommy, and yes i'm referring to the sandwich that everyone loves and i too will love, as i am willing to clog my ateries for it. It's okay though, i'm young and i'll walk it out at disney! I'm glad your enjoying my report!

haha poohbear you are a riot...just a year older than my dd so I can appreciate your inner child that comes out frequently;) dont forget to write a trip report when you come back...I need some good laughs:rotfl:

You know poohbear I really think you should be more excited about this trip. Your excitement doesn't come through in your post :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Sounds like yall are gonna have a great time :goodvibes . Happy Churro eating. The title to your post reminded me of the stuffed pretzles. I sure hope they still have those. The apple cinnamon ones are to die for.

Have a great trip!!!

Thanks for reading strwlady, Mm stuffed pretzels, that's another one of those things on my list that i for the moment forgot about. I will definatly get an apple cinnamon one as that sounds so good.

Lol funny story about that comment though, My b/f wanted to take me but in the begining like way before dates were even set, i was kinda hesitant as it is a big gift to accept. So i told him no, cause i wasn't able to pay for my half of it. We then went back and forth about it and then finally we flipped a coin for it. YES our major decisions are generally decided with a coin flip, bets on a football game, rock paper scissors etc. So he won, and then i HAD to go to disneyland. THE HORROR, how dare he do that to me i say! This is the conversation that followed:

B/F: I WIN! YOU HAVE TO GO DO DISNEYLAND NOW!
Me: fine....
B/F: Uh..i'm taking you to DISNEYLAND. Aren't you excited?
Me: I guess....if i have to be....
B/F: come on show me your excited disneyland face
Me: *small smile through sulky face* yay....
B/F: You'll see pooh bear, and ride rides.
Me: *smile getting bigger* YAY!!!!
B/F: that's better!

And lately he's been doing this to me, over the phone, in person etc

B/F: How many days till disney?!
Me: *shouts the number of days*
B/f: Are you excited!!
Me: YES!!!!
B/f: show me your happy disneyland waggle!
Me: *waggles*

The waggle, is from madden. I read the play once it was called P.A Waggle, so i started to wiggle my entire body and shake my head side to side and said "waggle, waggle, waggle" My b/f thought this was hilarious and very cute, so now it became a thing he'll ask me to do on randomn occasions. Keep this in mind as this will most likely come into play again in my trip report.

It is now Friday Jan, 26th 2007. I am going to disneyland, i will be on a plane in exactly 4 hours or so. :yay: <--that's me. Yesterday night was not so good, there was frustration, tears and thoughts on cancelling the entire trip. I shall begain my PRE-TRIP - the night before tale. Once again i do not take any liability for any claims that my trip report is not humerous or exciting as i have a disclaimer.

So Thursday Jan, 25th 2007, I am excited, i am pumped, I AM GOING TO DISNEYLAND OMG! I'm bouncing around the house packing and packing and packing. I've realized this, i am an overpacker, my mom was an overpacker, i am overpacker, one day i shall bear children and they too will be overpackers. Unless of course they are boys, in which case for the first few years I SHALL pack for them and they will be overpackers and then for the rest of their lives, they shall live out of a ziploc bag of one pair of undies and socks with a change of clothes for a 3 day trip. That aside, you can pretty much just imagine that my suitcase is slightly overflowing and i'm having problems zipping it up but it did zip up. "Hm" i thought to myself, i have a problem. What's this problem you ask? since my suitcase is full but is zipped up all nicely? Well I'm going to disneyland and throwing my paycheck to walt and in exchange i want SOUVENIERS! which i have to bring back home in this suitcase. I pondered about which things i could "lose" at disney and then realized that i have a lack of clothes in the first place, SO "accidently "misplacing" items to make room for piglet was out of the question. Yes i said lack of clothes. I am a tomboyish kinda girl, i will hit you and not a slap either, i will sock you in the gut but that's only if you make me mad. I kinda like girly girly shopping but yah havent' done that in over a year or so. Anyways i get a bright idea! There are two of us going to disney right? so i call up dbf and casually mention to him that you know, i'm checking in a suitcase, maybe he should to. (backstory: he doens't believe in checking in luggage cause then you get all held up at the spinning luggage monster that will spit out your luggage or sometimes LOSE IT. ) He thinks about it and says that he'll be fine with a carry on. I rephrase my question "I need space for souveniers, bring a suitcase" He says okay. SWEET~

So fast forward a LONG LONG LONG 5 hours at work. This will bore you but i will tell you anyways about my work that day. I built the departed the print. I work at a movie theatre and occasionally i do projection as well. Building a print goes like this. They come in these metal cases, sometimes they are labeled correctly and sometimes they label them randomn movie names to throw the people that may "STEAL" them off! Yah that's right you can steal a metal can and be like "BOOYAH! PIRATES 3" and then open it and find like (Instert name of the dumbest movie you've ever seen here) Well essentially it's supposed to throw the "piracy pirates off" Well anyways you build the reels, in order, most of the time the reels come head out which is the front of the film, guess what this film was a backwards baby, it basically came out foot first and while if you have baby backwards you can just flip them around, I had to rewind 8 reels before i could even start on my work. That took a good HOUR or so. So now i'm an hour beind, great. (I realize your being bored to tears here so i'll stop xD) Long story short, i got out of work 1.5 hours later than expected.

I went home tired and finished my packing, i opened my wallet and OMIGOD where is my debit card? The debit card i was going to use to withdraw money with? The debit card that i needed to get money with from an atm cause i didn't have the time to stop by the bank. (sidenote: i get paid on friday exactly 2am ish) I started to panic, panic as in rip up my entire room, i looked in the car, and then called dbf. Our phone conversation did not go very well, he asked questions like "well do you know where it was last?" and in my frusteration i snapped "if i knew where it was, it obviously isnt' lost!" in which he snapped at me for snapping at him and then i hung up on him. Yah i know what you thinking it was bad. Fastfoward some more, he's picking me up so i can spend the night at his house so him mom can drive us in the morning. I give him the cold shoulder and didn't talk to him the whole way to his house. In hindsight i regret it, actually in hindsight i regret a lot of things. (in life too, like how i haven't gone to disney in 10 years.) So i'm doing my own thing in his room and then i go downstairs and hug him, cause i realize that I know where my card is! it's at flaming wok at the mall cause i didn't wait to get it back!! THINGS ARE GOING TO BE GREAT! i thought then i see my dbf shuffling around in the medicine cabinet at his house. "what's wrong?" i ask and he responds "i have a headache, i feel sick" he then goes to lie down and i bring him a cup of water. He's drinking it sideways so he's getting all wet, i get him a tissue and wipe up the water. Then i realize something, there's water leaking from his eyes. Omigod he's crying, crap crap crap! i've been with this guy 1 year and he's NEVER cried and probalby hasn't for a long long time. I comfort him and find out that he's upset cause our trip is going so badly the night before and that he actually thought about cancelling it. I comforted him the best i could and then after about 45 mins we were all good again. I apologized for being a bum, and he apologized for snapping at me and we were all good again. YAY, we worked out that i would call in the morning and see if they had my card, if they did i would then go pick it up and withdraw mounds of cash from the atm at the airport. We then went to bed, actually i slept at about 3ish am and he joined me later around 4 am or so.

I just woke up on my own at 8am, and i've just called flaming wok. THEY HAVE MY CARD!!! Yay!! so now i'm going to go pick it up. I'm so excited though one thing still lies in my way. It's 9:04am, my dbf is still dead to the world. Well stay tuned and i'll be back in 4 nights and 5 days and update you all on how it went. Bye for now!

I am waiting on the edge of my seat to hear how your trip is! Keep us informed! (and entertained ;) ):happytv:

disney owl: Thank you, i'm hoping for a great finish too!

pumpkinfish: becareful not to fall off your seat! But yes i am going to update you guys now.

Disclaimer: I tend to be very detailed at times cause i like to ramble And be glad that i left out all details on bowel movements!

Chapter 1, part 1

So the last i left you guys i was excited because they found my debit card! yay well they should of cause i stupidly left it there. Anyways it was around 9:15ish and we were basically all set to go. Dbf's mom was a sweetheart and agreed to drive us to the airport on her day off. She did say we owed her though, though i dont' know what exactly, i do have 2 kidneys and from what i've heard is possible to give one up. So anyways, she drove us rather uneventfully to flaming wok to pick up my card, and the off to the airport.

We got in at around 10:30am for our 12:30pm flight. We were told to check in 2 hours prior to taking off. I think things have changed cause the last time i flew i was able to check in, check in my baggage and then wander around the departure area before going in and doing all that fun customs/immigration stuff. But then again maybe it's different for U.S.A flights. So we checked in through alaska, made sure to not lock our bags and filled out some pretty forms. They are blue btw, pretty blue forms. We walked through security and went up separately through immigration. The guy i got seemed blarghs, he didnt' make any eye contact with me or anything just asked me some questions that were so boring that i have no recollection of them at all. I waited for a bit for dbf and then was ushered through customs. I didn't beep! well my bag had to go through further checking though. Cause of all the electronics i was packing. YES i am a girl of the future, i had and ipod nano, a nintendo ds, various games, a digital camera. They all had to be taken out and she inspected it with a wand. I chatted with her for a bit about disneyland and she said that she wished she was going as well. She saw my stowaway though, but she said nothin of it. which means i should probably add this.

CAST UPDATE:

Pippers (Aka, Pipsqueak): Pippers is a baby poohbear, he's small and cute and speaks to me in a squeakish voice, he's a pipsqueak hence his name, he has stowed away in my backpack for this trip as we didnt' buy him a plane ticket or a park ticket. THOUGH from what i've heard kids fly free and he's only about 3 years old.

Moving along now, we walked into the food/shopping area, i exchanged some digital cash for some spiffeh american money that all looked all the same to me. So now with money in hand, pippers in backpack we were kinda hungry, so we ate some food, i had lasagna which they heated up in a styrafoam container. Thanks for the dioxins and possible cancer in the future skyway! and dbf had the cancer free salad. After eating we walked around, bought a tabloid, cause i enjoy reading them once in awhile. It's kinda interesting sometimes to read things that are written in a way so that the tabloid won't be sued like this,

Dr, Joe shmoe who is a very qualified plastic surgeon who does NOT TREAT big star actress says "the bridge of the nose seems to definatly been through some surgery"

We then proceeded to walk around the area until boarding time, we kinda didnt' really pay much attention to boarding until we saw people getting on the plane from our gate. We got on the plane and looked for or seats 22A and 22B on alaska. Our first glimpse of disney was the 50th anniversary sticker on the side of the plane to which i exclaimed "Look a disney plane!" and the stewardess heard me and was like "yes this is the disney plane" :woohoo: Yay disney!! So anyways we walked all the way to the back and found a guy in our seat, i stood there for a second kinda confused as to what to do. I've paid for a seat and now there is a man sitting in it. I want to go to disney, the stewardess then came over and sorted things out, she told us that it didnt' matter where we sat as this plane was empty. So we promptly sat in seats 22F and 22G. Now dbf looks over at me with this questioning grin. Oh crap...

Dbf: So...the flight center lady said it was full?
Me: Uh...yah she did, she said we got the last 2 seats
Dbf: Really? cause this plane looks empty to me
Me: Iunno maybe people cancelled?
Dbf: OR IT WAS A PLOY TO MAKE YOU BOOK EARLY!
Me: well what can i say i'm gullible
Dbf: Uh huhn
Me: Oh wells!

We buckled in, we sat, we took off, we drank ginger ale and ate pretzels, we sat some more. MY IPOD NANO BROKE!! I cried, I whimpered, I sulked, I sobbed, I smacked my ipod nano repeatly on my dbfs lap. None of which helped at all. All my disney songs trapped in a broken ipod nano. *sigh* We sat some more, I poked dbf, we played mario kart on my ds and then WE LANDED! YAY!

After landing we gathered our items and walked off the plane, (Isn't this stunningly detailed! so much that your wishing that i'd hurry up?) Everyone stood around the carosel marked "alaska" amazinly enough, our bags appeared from the carosel next to it. It was a sick joke by lax. All those baggage people must of been laughing at us. We landed at around 3ish.

After grabbing our bags we walked over to a lady who showed us our way to the super shuttle. The magical van that takes us to DISNEYLAND! YAY! i saw a grayline disney bus too. We skipped over to the orange bus stop and a lady took down our names. We waited for our magical blue van to show up. For anyone that has never taken the supershuttle, basically there is a ton of different shuttles, they'll stop by the marked orange stop and if there is a passenger waiting for it the lady will hail them down. They go to a ton of places, long beach, disneyland, hollywood, universal etc. It takes awhile for our van to show up. It's a 9 seater van, the passenger side, then a row of 3, a row of 2 and the back row of 3. Our van finally shows up and the lady exclaims that everyone is on this van, there was probably 6 of us waiting. We got on the van and my and dbf sit together in the first row of three. We pick up one more passenger to fill up the van and then the driver says this over the radio:

Driver: (blah blah blah dont' remember) Lead me out to the house of mouse.
Mystery man on radio: (blah blah blah dont' remember) Have a safe trip

That amused me for two reasons, One he said HOUSE OF MOUSE!! YAY! and the other the guy wished us a safe trip. That's cute. Now me and dbf are kinda quiet people, actually not to each other and people we know. I'm loud and what not but i'm also very shy around strangers, i dont think i'm better than you i'm just scared of you. If you talk to us we'll be happy to talk to you but we're just not go getters like that. So it was a VERY quiet trip, there were several people travelling alone and a couple was split up. So quiet that the driver actually commented "It's okay to talk, i don't charge extra for that" Stifled nervous laughter and then silence. Dbf started up a conversation with me but i felt kinda uncomfy with it cause, we're in a dead silent van with people we don't know who are all probably listening to our convo not cause they want to but because it's so quiet it's hard not to. We chatted a little and then stopped. The ride was about 45 minutes long and very uneventful. Well except for this one part where the driver had to jam on his brakes and this handcarry suitcase came barreling at my foot. We laughed it off and when i looked up i saw signs that said DOWNTOWN DISNEY, DISNEYLAND. And I got super excited. The driver dropped us off at Best western pavillions, we tipped and checked in. Dbf ate a cookie and said that it was very good, he looked around at the brochures as i checked in. We got room 124 on the first floor. We were given choices such as "what lvl do you want, what kinda beds queen/king" we didn't really care so the lady gave us whatever i think. Dbf saw a sign for a free shuttle to universal, i quickly diverted his attention with disneyland brochure though. WHEW. We walked around to the back and dropped off our bags. I repacked my carry on backpack with sharp items and unlabeled liquids without ziploc bags. MUAHAHAHAA actually okay i didn't but yah i repacked it for our late afternoon at Downtown disney. By the time is was around 5ish i believe.

I am now going to go watch some Disney Gummi Bears on DVD and have dinner. I shall continue later on tonight.

Next chapter: Downtown disney and BEDBUGS?!?!?!?!?

Chapter 2, Day 1, Part 2

I should probably explain a little more about our hotel room but i'll do that later. For now all you need to know is that our room is room number 124. Dbf and i washed up and checked on our stowaway. We decided to leave him in the hotel room and tucked him into bed. The plan was to pick up our tickets tonight so that we wouldnt' have to worry about going through the line up and picking them up tomorrow. So after making sure that our valubles were locked up in my suitcase we left for DTD. I live out of my suitcase and lock all my valubles in it daily. I'm paranoid, i was raised paranoid and will probably raise my children to be paranoid as well. So far my children don't have much going for them, overpackers, paranoia, and my mother has diabetes BUT i will take them to disneyland every couple years. So there that'll make up for it. Of course there is the argument that the robbers could just take my entire suitcase but i wont' think about that now.

Dbf wanted another cookie, the hotel has a basket of fresh baked cookies on their front counter for the guests. So we casually went in to ask a question about the hollywood shuttle and took 2 cookies. Yum they are good, chewy chocolate chip cookies.

The walk to disney isn't that far, down one block, across a crosswalk of a major road (if you have young kids you definatly want to watch out for this road). The crosswalk is right by Coco's which is a restaurant which i've heard great reviews about so i was happy it was so close. Then down another block, past paradise pier. And then we stood at the intersection with the Grand californian on our right and a sign to downtown disney on our left. We got confused, yes in my wonderful planning i forgot to look up exactly where disneyland was. So we stood to cross to our left, then changed our minds to go straight, then back to left, then back to straight. Then we saw a CM and decided to follow him, he went right by the way. The walk from the hotel to Downtown disney is not too bad, but include the fact that you have to cross the Entire downtown disney area to get to disneyland and the walk becomes kinda far. I think it was maybe a 10+ minute walk or so. But remember that me and dbf are in our 20's have no children, no toddlers, no babies and no strollers. We went into downtown disney and i was elated. I had read so much about all these places, i've seen picture, read reviews, read trip reports. In which i had felt that i was there without being there. So there was a sense of familiarity with everything i saw. We walked into ESPN zone first as that was where i was hoping to take Dbf for his birthday dinner. The hostess informed us that there was currently at 10-15 minute wait. It was around 5ish i believe so dbf declined as it was too early to eat for him. We walked back outside and checked out several stores. Buying a small bag of kettle corn that i've heard so much about for me to try. It was yummy, i liked it. So i munched a couple handfuls and put it in the backpack. We walked into the candystore and bought dbf a bag of goofys sours and a apple pie apple for me. I checked out some pins as i promised that i would look for some star war's pins for my managers that were awesome enough to give me time off. We checked out the lego store, the world of disney store and then decided that we were kinda hungry.

We went back to ESPN and were told that now the wait was around 25-30minutes long. It was probably around 6ish or so now, I enlightened dbf about how the dis had taught me not to eat during normal dinner hours and to eat at off hours to avoid lines. Dbf told me that that was pretty obvious. We checked in and were given a black remote that would buzz and light up when our table was ready. We went upstairs and checked out the games, dbf bought a 15 dollar card which gave us i believe 60 credits. i worked out the math and it was basically about a quarter a credit and most games were about a dollar or so. We played air hockey, I stink at air hockey, i lost 7-0. Pif is all i have to say. Dbf rubbed it in as we looked around for more games that peaked our intrest, a paddleboat game, this game is kinda fun the raft moves and you have to paddle the boat. At this one point i was laughing so hard i stopped paddling so dbf had to paddle by himself well kinda yelling "Keep paddling, why did you stop paddling" so he's sitting on this raft and paddling really hard yelling at me and there on the other side i was laughing my head off. Which made me laugh harder. We actually got to write our names on the scoreboard, if you guys ever see it PAT & SHA is us. After that dbf handed me the blinking vibrating buzzer, it was saying "please return to your hostess" Or something to that extent. We returned to the waiting area and was shown our seats pretty quickly. The service was absolutely fabulous. Our waitress was super busy but not once did she forget to refill our drinks, ask us how our meal was. She was super attentive which we really liked. At one point i was taking a randomn picture of dbf and this manager guy comes up to us and saying something about camera or what not. He had kind of a loud voice so i thought i was in trouble for taking pictures. But turns out he was asking us if we wanted him to take our picture. Whew, and for a second there i thought i was going to have my camera confiscated or something. Dinner was really good, i had the cajun chicken burger with apple blue cheese walnut salad, and dbf had the bbq chicken with mashed potatoes and fried onions. We also shared a french onion soup in a breadbowl. Everything was so delicious. We paid, we tipped we left.

We then walked through security and into the disneyland/california ticketing area. I was so excited, so close yet separated by a gate. We stood in line to pick up our tickets, i don't remember the time, most of the times i've been giving have been guesstimations as i wasnt' wearing a watch nor was i really paying any attention to the time. But all i remember was that disneyland closed at 11pm, and there was about 4-5 hours till they closed which brought up this conversation. I was told by our flightcentre agent that we could upgrade our tickets for 20$ per ticket, so dbf mentioned that if i wanted to, we could probably upgrade now, and then go play in disney for a couple hours. I of course wanted to so, when it was our turn we went up to the counter and asked for a upgrade as well as picking up our tickets with the voucher. There seemed to be some confusion as to how to redeem our voucher but a couple minutes later they worked it out. To upgrade the cm informed us would be 80 dollars per person so 160 dollars for two. :scared1: We declined, i then figured that it was probably a flightcenter deal or maybe i heard wrong. We walked back towards downtown disney and checked out the AMC thinking maybe we'd watch a movie, but we both work in a movie theatre and get free movies at home so we decided not to. We headed back to our hotel.

Now our hotel was pretty empty as well, not that many cars in the parking lot and most of the rooms looked unused. So now dbf was convinced that the flightcentre lady just wanted me to book early, remember earlier she had told me that there were 4 rooms left. Right next door to our hotel is a liquor/convinience store, so we went there to buy to huge bottles of water to fill up our little water bottle we then returned to our room for some rest. We threw off the first cover on our bed as i've been taught as a child that that's the dirtiest cover that's rarely washed. And i watched t.v. while dbf napped. Our room was pretty good i think i liked it, there were two beds on our left then a mini fridge, microwave near the back by the sink, to the left of that was the bathroom with a bath/shower and a toilet. On the right there was a table, chairs, light and the t.v./dresser.

At one point i looked over at dbf's shoulder and there was a BUG :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: on his shoulder. It was brown and i focused in on it so i saw it pretty clearly. I freaked out and instinctively flicked it off him. I then started to shake dbf and told him to get up as there were BUGS on our BED therefore BEDBUGS. We looked around the bed and saw a bug crawling on the cover on the floor, the curtains had several bugs on them. We were moving rooms, now! I called front desk and explained the bug situation, she informed me that we could change rooms now but we'd have to go pick up the keys as there was no security or something. So we packed up and checked everything over for stowaways. We went to front desk and she gave us the choice of rooms 122 or 126, dbf's bday is 22nd so he wanted that room. She apologized and we went off to room 122. It was a little newer, we checked for bugs and it was all clear.

Now i have to say that though there were bugs, Best western pavillions is a great hotel. The walls are kinda thin, as we could hear, people coughing but we also ran the fan on the air conditioner all the time as dbf likes some background noise. So sorry folks if that bothered you. it wasn't very very loud, just loud enough to drown out other sounds. The beds were comfy, and the water pressure was good, i didnt' have to do the hot/cold dance in the shower. Though the shower is mounted so if your tall like me, i'm 5'9ish you kinda have to aim the shower head almost straight out and bend a bit to wash your hair.

We talked some more about universal and i gave in and agreed to go to universal on monday for a full day and spend half a day at disneyland. :guilty:

Next chapter: Our first day at the parks

I love your trip report! Its fantastic. Sounds like you had a good time so far, and i think that as long as you take your kids to Dl every couple of years you can be forgiven for the overpacking and whatnot!

Yes! Finally writing the trip report :)I look forward to hearing more...not more about the bedbugs though :( ICK! But more on your adventures ;)

Staley: Thank you so much i'm glad your enjoying it.

Pumpkin: Don't worry, that was the first and last appearance of the bedbugs. Or curtain bugs or whatever they were.

Oh yeah, i forgot to mention that at around 9pm last night while i was lying on the bug ridden bed, befoer the room change, i had heard a lot of banging. I kinda thought it was maybe door slamming somewhere but then it continued. Now i was panicking a bit i thought that someone somewhere was getting beaten up. As the banging continued i looked over at a sleeping Dbf who of course would be of no help if someone came in and tried to kill me. Then i opened the door and looked outside and saw huge clouds of smoke and heard more banging. Than it hit me, FIREWORKS. I laughed at myself for getting worked up over fireworks. I couldnt' see any from our hotel but i could hear them.

So fast forward past the point where we are now in our new bug free room.

I slept probably around 11-12ish last night, i remember falling asleep right before they announced the winner of the beet competition of iron chef. I woke up at 5:30am, without and alarm clock. The first thing i did was wake up dbf. Cause i'm a wonderful g/f like that, that and we had fallen asleep before brushing our teeth. So after brushing his teeth and setting the phone alarm dbf fell promptly back to sleep, leaving me to lie there bored. We had two queen beds and not wanting to disturb him i went to sit on the other bed. I munched on popcorn, ate the caramel apple. yes i did this all at 5:30am, In bed, and just after brushing my teeth. The apple pie caramel apple was So so so good, but you need to have a knife to be able to cut it into sections to truly enjoy it. Cause i didnt' i was taking bites, so i had one huge bite of pure carmel, then a huge chunk of apple. I watched the national geography channel, or discovery i think. Something where they showed the kratt brothers. I think they are both kinda cute, they walked up a hill and then said this, well the best that i can remember it.

Martin: Look chris ****ies!
Chris: Yes martin, there are ****ies everwhere
Martin: look at the ****ies over here
Chris: there are so many ****ies.

Now i just flicked the channel on to this so at first i was thinking, whoa isn't this a kids show or something, and aren't they on a mountain? Then they show a close up of a ****ie. the ****ie is drumroll please. A BIRD! Yes a bird, kinda seagull looking like bird. On the galapago islands, they then went on the hunt for the vampire finch, which is a bird the size of a sparrow or so, this vampire finch preys on the ****ies. This little bird apparently will sit on the ****ies tail feathers, and rip out feathers till it draws blood and then drink the blood of the ****ies. :faint: they showed it in vivid detail.

Now i was more awake then ever so i changed the channel to the food channel and learned how to make some kind of square which eludes me now. I was pretty wide awake so i just sat it out until around 7:30 in which i went to take a shower and get ready for disney. by 8am, i was hovering over sleeping dbf and poking him until he stirred. He woke up eventually and got himself ready as well, only this time our shower decided to make a high pitched squeal throughout his entire shower. I thought that might wake up our sleeping neighbours so i decided to drown out the sound by blowdrying my hair. ;) I packed the backpack for our day at disney, bottled water, various medicines, mini first aid kid, pippers and our park tickets. We were off by around 8:15 or so.

We had one early entry day on our park hoppers and had decided against using them this day which was saturday cause the park would be open from 9-11 anyways and that would be plenty of time to see everything.

We stopped at coco's for a quick breakfast, actually i hoovered my food and then sat there watching dbf eating painfully slow. Well he wasnt' eating slow, he was eating normal pace just it felt slow. He had the steak omelette with really yummy potatoes and i had sausages and potato pancakes which were good. I kept asking him what time it was and when it was finally 8:50, we had eaten, paid, and left. If anyone is interested they do offer a breakfast buffet for $9.99, it had the normal stuff, potatoes, sausage etc

We crossed the crosswalk and i skipped/jumped every couple steps, i was excited. we're going to disney! Yay! we walked pretty quickely through dtd, actually i walked quickly and kinda dragged dbf along. Went through security no problem, pippers wasn't disturbed as he was sleeping quietly in my backpack. We stood in line for disney and went to number 13, why mostly cause the dis told me that it had the shortest line, well it wasnt' shortest but it was pretty fast moving, We handed our tickets over and with a pixiedust: <--that kind of sound, we walked into disneyland. We walked through the tunnels and looked at the map, i know i had been told to go to fantasyland first, but i figured what the hey, it was EE day today so most people must be already there. So we walked through frontierland, Dbf saw the shooting range and we made note to go there later. Anytime there's an oppurtunity to shoot a gun, we'll do it.

We continued past New orleans and noticed that pirates had a 5 minute wait. So we looked at each other and got into the non existant line. less than 1 minute later we were on our boat and the voice was telling us "dead men tell no tales" Pirates is very different than what it was before, i really enjoyed it. I held onto dbf's hand in a deathgrip though because i'm a scaredy cat, i'm afraid of heights, deathly so, so much that as a child i was scared of the escalator. And those glass barriers around the second floor of the mall. I'm also afraid of the dark, and ghosts and monsters and well the list goes on. Pirates was awesome and capt jack sparrow looked so real. Okay i'm going to admit something to you all now but you musn't judge! I've never seen pirates the first or the second one. *ducks for cover* But i know the jist of the stories i think. Anyways after pirates the line was still pretty non existant but dbf and i decided to not go on it again.

We headed of too haunted mansion. The line was 5 minutes as well, this one we probably waited about 3 minutes, the elevator was kinda creepy, i have to admit i closed my eyes during the thunder scene. I was a little spooked but i knew that disney would never hurt me so i felt okay with it all. However a child was screaming and crying bloody murder after. And other people were commenting on how that child was most definatly traumatized. We got on our doom buggy and i was nervous, deathgrip of dbf's hand and we were off. I have to say that up to the part where the happyhaunts are dancing i was pretty creeped out, but after that i was just enjoying the ride. I pointed out the hidden mickey to my dbf, which he couldn't see. it was the only hidden mickey we saw on our entire trip. We disembarked with all our limbs and our hitchhiker and promised the lady we'd hurry back.

It was off to critter country to see my favorite poohbear. We got on the ride, once again with no wait at all. In our hunny pot we saw poohbear and eeyore and all his friends and then we heard the bees buzzing and then we were done. It was a short ride but i liked it, we then walked into pooh corner to buy poohbear his piglet. We found a piglet that was the perfect size for poohbear and looked around some more. Pooh ear clips for me as well. I checked out the candy as dbf paid. I saw tigger tails, but decided that i would come back for them.

We saw Big thunder mountain railroad, so we got in line i believe it was a 10 minute wait. We got on the ride and once again, deathgrip of dbf's hand and whooosh, the ride was over. I laughed and smiled the whole time. Me and dbf don't scream on rides. I'll smile and laugh sometimes and he'll just sit there with the same expression, sometimes cracking a small smile. Even on coasters. I loved this ride, the wait time had increased to about 20 minutes, and after dbf reminded me that we had two more days at disney to reride rides we headed away from BTMR.

Into Big thunder ranch i think it's called, anyways we petted goats, and a cow and a sheep and then washed our hands with soap and water. We saw jafar the goat and then walked back into fantasyland, passing pirates the line was now extended outside the sign, it was probably now a 20 minute wait.

We walked into fantasyland and the first thing i saw was king arthurs carosel. So we walked on to it. Well the horse was pretty high up, and i didn't know how to get on, so dbf got on his horse first, showing me how to put my leg in the strap and then pull myself up and swing my leg over. I did just what he did only i very gracefully swung my leg into a pole (my horse was on the inside) after sitting on my horse and holding the pole to stop the vibration. I sat there slightly embarressed. this was me :guilty: and this was dbf :rotfl:. After telling him to hush, the ride started for 8 rounds, we catched glimpses of the sword ceremony that was happening.

We got off and then headed onto snow white's scary adventures. There was no apple though, I love snow white, as a child my mother used to turn on snow white so that i would sit still for 1 hour while she did housework. Once she turned it on so she could take a short nap while she was pregnant with my brother. When she awoke i had abandoned snow white and was playing with my potty chair. She wasnt very happy. Oh wells, We sat in our sleepy cart and off we went. I'll admit it, the witch creeped me out, i may of even let out a little surprised scream once...or twice....during this kids ride. I still liked it though.

Pinnochio was next, we went through pinnochio's land and dbf kept asking me questions cause he never watched the movie or didnt' remember if he did. He was kinda confused as to what was happening. So i explained to him while riding the ride. Dbf is a darling, he confuses all the princesses and even though i've made him watch several video's with me i don't think he's really retained anything.

After pinnochio fantasyland was pretty much packed, peter pan had a 40 minute wait, and even mr toads wild ride and alice had around 20-30minutes. So we moved on, taking note to come back early on sunday. We walked by the matterhorn which had a 50 minute wait. We couldnt' even find the end of the line, so i gave up on that ride for today as well. Leaving fantasyland i bought myself a mickeybar. I throughly enjoyed it and so did the floor as i gave it little tastes of my mickybar all the way to tomorrowland. I like to share.

We walked towards tomrorowland and headed straight for space mountain, wow the fast pass time was pretty late, i believe we got in there probably around 11-12ish and ended up with fp's for around 4-5ish. Went through innoventions, pretty quickly might i add. We browsed through and then had a quick lunch at red rockets pizza port. It was pretty busy as it was at 12:40. So much for listening to the dis about eating times. Two humongous slices of pizza and milk and salad later, i was stuffed. I was beyond stuffed. Dbf was stuffed as well.

So off to toontown we go, we walked through toontown and dbf noticed that his favorite ride was up, go go gadgets coaster. so of course we got in line for it. I had passed on rogers toon town spin because dbf gets nauseous on spinny rides. Which means no teacups or dumbo for me. He had gone on the carosel ride but he had also taken a gravol. The line was decent, it took maybe 10 minutes or so. I took in the scenery while i waited. Finally it was our turn, about 1 minute later the ride was over. It was awesome. I was beginging to feel that need for speed again.

The feeling quickly passed, we took one last look around toontown and walked out towards adventureland. Hoping to maybe grab fps for indiana jones. Passing the dole whip stand i made a quick mental note to grab one later on. The line for indiana was 50 minutes long. The fp line was maybe 3-4 minutes long. Blah to standing in lines so instead we went on a jungle cruise.

Our cm was larry and he was pretty funny. I enjoyed the corny jokes, the backside of water, and of course the little elephant which was spraying water on us or snot. The pirahnaa's creeped me out a little but after the inital spray i was okay. Back on land again we decided it was time to head over to california adventure.

Next chapter: What do you mean...you want me to get on screaming? I"M AFRAID OF HEIGHTS!
