Mission Alpha Beta 2

Oh yeah! Dysfunction runs here... Let's see.. my parents come up and stay a whopping 1-2 hours.. no kidding..they drive an hour and than don't stay much at all..
:( I keep telling my DH that I don't want that for my kids.. I want to have get togethers that are fun and the kids don't want to leave..it'll be bad enough when they leave home for college..

Yeah, we are dysfunctional too (:tiptoe: ask me what I really think). And I hope that I have created enough happy memories that my kids will want to come home and bring everyone with them. All are welcome, inlaws, and outlaws. That's my hope anyway...

Mine too!!! I've been trying to create more memories and traditions now that they kids are older that they can appreciate... when they are tiny they just don't always get the concept... My kids remember certain things that I have tucked away that bring back memories that I adore!!!! :) Now, if we could just have some snow for Christmas... and only if I'm at my own home and NOT stuck w/ the in-outlaws!!

Right! You don't want it to snow and be stuck in a place where you are not wanted!!!! What a horrible thought! If I was stuck at my Fathers house and snowed in, I think I would rather die! That's why I don't even go there, cause the thought of that happening just scares the !@$!$ out of me!!!!! :lmao:

So how bout we skip the parents, the in-laws, and the out-laws and have a great big DIS family xmas in WDW next year?!?!? :thumbsup2

fabulous idea buffy......where do i sign?????

OOHHH, Christmas - without all of the non-functional family garbage! The only problem is that by the time the kids get out of school, the parks are CROWDED!!! But the idea intrigues me!

If you can manage pulling the kids out the week before xmas is fabulous! We went from the the 14th to the 28th and it didn't get crowded until the weekend before xmas. Dec 15 - 22, 2007 looks good!

Or we can plan a scrap retreat for just the girls. SDV which is dreameventsinc.com at WDW 8/21 - 8/24, 2008 and 8/27 - 8/30, 2009.
Scrapping and WDW spouse and child free, who could ask for more???

We could plan this and if we did 4 to a room it wouldn't be terribly expensive at all. What do ya'll think?

Now, there's an idea. We have to get some company stuff back on track before I plan on spending any more money (when client's don't pay, it gets hard on the owners!) But if the first of the year is as good as it looks, I just might be in!

Let me think about this... I know basketball season is in full swing for Cam at that time...so I don't know...but than again.. it's only one game...and I would love to do the WORLD at Christmas... and this week has been nothing just busy work in school.. Let me talk to Mike..15-22 of Dec... I can have an answer for you by... the end of the holidays...

OHHHHHHH, that sounds like fun!!! Just us girls! Wish it was in July though. The end of August is when school starts around here :teacher: and I know DH could never get everything ready...and I can't miss the first day....

Question...If I wanted to stay on points for SDV, I could book as a local and not have the hotel cost right? :confused3

yes you can book as a local but see if it is cost effective. They do try to book the rooms in the convention center too. This past Aug the exceeded to size for the convention center at the Contemporary so they moved it to the Yacht Club. So we all had rooms at YC. If you stayed at say Boardwalk, using points, you would have to travel from BW to Contemporary to go to the crop and classes. I have a feeling though that they may end up booking YC again do to the amount of people who went this summer.

I'm skipping 2007 because it's in Sept and the kids are in school already. But 2008 may be doable for me. We will start school Aug 29 2007.

Hmmmmm, so Beach Club Villas would be a good idea.... :teeth:

Hmm, how many people can you fit in a villa? Because someone here, mmm me, may just want to invite herself into your place. I could split the cost of points and you could use the money for upkeep charges or whatever they call that.

Ya know, that isn't a bad idea...have to see what the points will be for 2008, and how many DH and I have left. It would be fun to have a big villa with lots of us though :teeth: (I snore so not sure who would want to bunk with me. I guess whoever gets the short straw)

I'll take the short straw. I've been known to snore too. Not always, but best for us snoregirls to stick together.

Now, if I could just talk my DH into letting me get a part-time job so I could fund this myself.
