Take a lookey into my bookey:
Wow. When I look at my itinerary I am amazed at what I have done. I have spread sheets of each day with my plan. What time I wake up, what time I wake up DH, what time I wake up the kids, what time we eat, what time we leave for the bus, etc. etc, etc. My DH asked one day looking over my shoulder, he has clearance to do that, You have the time Ill wake up on there? he laughs. My reply was youll thank me when its all said and done and I typed on. (Who does he thinks he is, making not nice comments like that while I spend countless hours working all these things out. Just you wait. Youll be hive fiving me when its over and telling me how much you love me because its going to be the best vacation we ever had! )
I know its involved but, I remember mornings when we winged it and were so mad at each other because I forgot to do something or couldnt find all the stuff I wanted to take to the park. You know all the stuff you take and dont use. And Id really get mad because he couldnt read my mind and help. Then we were leaving the room at 9 or 10 am. 3 hours after I wanted to get there. And just being not nice.
This way, look at the spread sheet; follow the spread sheet and all will be well. I hope so. I didnt list any appearances for Murphy to appear anywhere. Theres no room for him to make any trouble. Hes kinda like Stitch dont you think?
But, Im sure hell find a way to squirm himself into my rock solid plans. Theres always a way in. (I should know Im a secret agent for Petes sake.) Im sure hell make several unwanted appearances this trip.
My father always referred to him. I never knew who he was back then, but now I know. Now I understand all those times he was yelling at some guy named Murphy and I would stand there looking at him confused and looking around, like who is Murphy.
I will never forget this one time on our way to WDW, he was driving us in the old brown panel wagon. We were practically all alone on this road. One of his short cuts just cruising along, 8 track playing Elvis and with my inquisitive little 6 year old mind I asked him a question.
Dad, if the sign says 5-5, why are you driving 7-5? Im driving honey, dont worry. says my father, I know what Im doing
But Daaaaaad, it says 5-5! Read your book Monie. (God I miss him calling me that).
Ah, Dad? I say 5 minutes later.
Theres a police car behind us with his lights on. Whys he got his lights on Dad? Should we stop? Do we need to get out of his way? He's waving his hand dad, ya I think he wants to talk to you. Boy he must have been driving fast to catch up to us."
"Monie read your book!!! my mom and dad said together.
I heard about Murphy then driving back from the Georgia Police Station after my dad had to pay a fine. Took us way out of our way. Lost hours on that one. Probably a few mickey bars too.
It's in the family genes and I'm cursed. But I'd rather say, God has a very weird sense of humor with me.
So, in my book, my passporter that is, my itinerary is what will make our trip run smoother.
Ok on to the secret contents.
11/23 Thanksgiving. We have a reservation to stay at a hotel near the airport. DH thought because we are leaving during one of the busiest travel days of the year, and I agree, this is a must for us. The family will get a good nights sleep before we leave. Who needs Turkey right? Well get there about 4:00pm. Let them swim and tire themselves right out. They still wont know whats going on at this point. Thats key to getting a good nights sleep.
11/24: Travel day. Leave at 9:30am. Arrive Orlando at 12:00pm. Find DME and hope and pray we dont have to wait forever. This is a free day once we get there to check out the resort and go down town and shop.
11/25 MGM Day. Ressie at Hollywood and Vine. See the Osborne Family of Lights. Now they dance. Cool!
Last year Matt was looking around a shop in MGM studios. He saw something he wanted and we said, wed think about it. Long story short we were never able to go back there and we thought the DTD store would have it and they didnt. I promised him Id find one on line.
Be careful what you promise your kids.
I couldnt find it. (Probably because he got the name of the toy wrong). AND HES YET TO LET ME FORGET IT. So, this is the first park we go to this year. He goes into the store shows it to me. I go back in and buy it and have it delivered to our resort for the next day so he gets it on his birthday. It had something to do with Indiana Jones.
11/26 MAGIC KINGDOM DAY. Hoop De Doo ressie.
This is Matts birthday. Can you imagine waking up on your birthday in WDW? I can and Im very excited for him. Ive got the whole day figured out that will just suit him. I ordered him a pirate t-shirt from the on line
Disney store. I have banners to hang and balloons to put up. I made special window clings announcing his birthday. I dont want to give it all away. But I know this will be the best day of the week. I mean it Murphy!!!
11/27: AK-We are starting with Donalds Breakfastasaurous.
11/28: Epcot and dining at Biergarten for the first time.
11/29: Tim is taking the boys to Universal, I know it seems bad posting this on the disboards, but I know we arent the only ones who do this. My mom, myself and Malorie are going to do some laundry in the am, go to all the little girl things at various parks and then meet up with the boys for a princess dinner at 1900 Park Fare. We havent done this and I cant wait to see her experience this. Her dress is all ready to go.
11/30: Magic Kingdom. Dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern. Mickeys Very Merry Christmas Party. Another first.
12/1: The only day I left open. Kids choice. Zach and Matt can lead the way!
12/2: TDWGH-The Day We Go Home.
