Mission Accomplished - Add-on Called In

Been dying to add on for the past month, we are already a DEC UY. DW wanted to add on to BWV. On a recent visit to Chicago, we toured the Doorway to Dreams and saw the AKV villas (Oct 13th). They were beautiful and with the current incentives, we were ready to add-on to AKV. Been lurking on the boards and saw this thread about SSR being the better deal.
I called my guide (Randy Cook) and we reviewed the BWV, AKV and SSR.

The additional 2006 points + 2007 points coming in 6 weeks + 100 Developer points is such a good deal and don't forget the additional $ 10 off per point. The only bummer is the Disney Visa -- I purchased 110 points to qualify for Developer points but you need to purchase 160 points minimum to get the $ 500 Disney Visa Reward. I still put 10% down payment on the Disney Visa and there is no interest for 6 months.

We vetoed the OKW extension because we rather put that money towards more points. We have been members for 11 years -- now we have half our points at OKW (2042) and half our points at SSR (2054) so we will have a Disney home for an additional 12 years and 25% more points to use.

We have not stayed at SSR yet but we have tried all the other DVC resorts.
We have not experienced any booking problems for what we want at 11 months or 7 months so far. Looking forward to our SSR stay in 2008.

Congratulations John! I also have a Dec use year and I just went through the same decisions myself. I ended up going with AKV because I want the chance to grab concierge every now & then, but it was a tough choice. I would have loved to get the 2006 points and I have stayed at SSV a couple of times and love it, but when I toured the AKV models I was lost I am also passing on the OKW extension in favor of the add-on.

I thought I was over Add-onitus after all these years, but you never know when the bug will hit you!
