The "FREE VALUES" Fridge Swap is missing their fridge!!!

It is cream colored and has "Newtech" written on the door handle. Since it is not the typical white fridge, we are hoping to track it down

Until recently, it was used by members of our swap. It's base resort is the ALL Star Sports but it can and has been used at ALL Star Movies and Music and even made a trip to another resort other than the three listed.

At one point, it had three laminated signs affixed to it. These bright colored signs had the name "FREE VALUES FRIDGE SWAP" and the signs were taped on with duct tape.

We are thinking that perhaps it was given to a swapper in a different swap. If so, someone else from another swap may have recently used it or is using it. If somone remembers using this fridge recently, could they please contact tiggs14 who is the swap co-ordinator or myself.

We are trying to track it down so we can get things straightened out.

Hopefully someone can help point us in the right direction so another swap will not have to end.

Maybe Disney is cracking down on people that do free fridge swaps and people that don't tip bell services for their time? I can't say I blame them.

Didn't the Dis get rid of photopass swaps for this reason not long ago? I am surprised they still allow the fridge swaps threads.

I don't think that's the case. It sounds to me that maybe a diser didn't do their part in the swap. It's a shame! Hope they can find it and get it back on track.

That is the impression I got. It seems that someone may have left the fridge in their room instead of taking it or making arrangements for it to be picked up before their check out time.

The last time the fridge was misplaced, I called a few of the resorts and have nothing but appreciative things to say about the CM's. They were all helpful.

The last time it was missing, it was due to an error on the part of a swapper.

People that sign up for a swap need to know the name of the swap, the rules and follow them. It is the only way that these swaps will continue.

GoingAgainSoon: If Disney wanted to stop the swaps, they could very easily do so.

Let's hope we find the fridge soon.

There are some families that are just able to swing getting to Disneyworld. For some families, being able to use the fridge, makes all the difference in whether or not they can go to Disneyworld. I am sure that DW is aware of this and that is why the fridge swaps have not been stopped (if Disney made up their minds to end this practice, it could very easily be done).

For our family, we just get tired of the food at the parks. We like to have water, juice and especially fruit & fresh veggies available in our room. Sometimes we take some things to the parks, other times not.

Our trip to DW was in March and our friends used this fridge. I don't mind trying to help the others in finding it. We do not have plans to go in the immediate future - just trying to help out.

Again these kind of comments really aren't helpful...we put it out here so that others that aren't part of our swap can let us know if they have seen our fridge. We are not the first swap to do this...in fact another swap found there fridge awhile ago with a similiar post.

If you have nothing constructive to add to the thread please keep your comments to yourself...on the other hand if you've seen our fridge PLEASE post letting us know where! We have a lot of swappers that are really hoping our fridge turns up soon.

Do they keep the refrigerators that they rent in bell services also? If not maybe it was placed with the rental ones when they emptied the room of the last swapper. Just a thought!

Since we are in garage sale mode here in the NE--I worry about the sign that had the word "FREE" on it. Do you think it was left outside a room and someone saw that word and assumed it was for the taking (not a dis swap person, but another guest).

Huh? A fridge is a make or break in going to Disney?

I don't dismiss the convenience of having a refrigerator in one's room, but really? The difference in going or not? It is a refrigerator, not a life saving transplant. You can keep bottles of water in the closet: they are not going to stay cold once you get to the park anyway. Apples, pears, bananas; all fine at room temperature. If you prefer chilled things and can't afford a refrigerator in the room, use a cooler. Ice is free at the hotel. I don't have a problem with folks that want to swap, but to say it makes a difference in whether someone can go or not seems a little absurd.

This is not the first time a fridge has been confused with another swap, all they are asking for is help to get theirs located. Making assumptions about tips given to bell services, how it affects someones vacations, CM's or others intentionally removing it serve no purpose in helping to locate it which is very nicely pointed out in Tiggs14 post.
