Missing the World

I know what you mean about the post depression, but for me that depression starts before I even go. I am not going until April, and am already bummed out that my trip will come and go, then what will I do??? On one hand I can't wait to go and on the other I want it to take longer to come.....sick, I know! :sad2:

Wow, you've got it bad!

I have a strong tendency to think that way, too, but I've been trying for the last few years to live more in the moment. Yes, I plan for the future and appreciate the past, but I'm trying not to let too much more time go by without really appreciating the magnificence of life.

We got back Dec 22nd and I was really miserable the next couple of days. Then it tapered off and I was just sad. Now I am think all the time "3 weeks ago today we were doing this". Writing a trip report has helped, being able to relive the trip. I find myself on the DIS more now than ever! And I decided to go again with the kids in March 2008. My DH does a long overseas trip each March and this will keep us from being bored, sad and left behind. Plus since he is not a big Disney fan he won't have to come! ;) He keeps asking me how I plan to pay for it. Pshaw! I'll figure something out!

I get bummed like you when my trip is gonna start as I know you blink and it's over. Our first trip was aug 05 and we thought it was a once in a lifetime trip. When i got home I got so bummed. A few months later i started learning more about DVC and before I knew it we had bought resale. Our first trip home was Sept 06 and I was less depressed when we got back as I knew at least someday i could go back. Happily we are planning this year for May and a small chance for a 2nd trip.
So, to cure your depression i recommend buying DVC :rotfl:
