Missing posts - Is there a db restore going on right now?

Did I just happen to luck out and log in while a restore of the database is going on? There are no threads that were newly created between 12:45AM EDT and now. And there are quite a few threads that show up but have no posts in them...

Yup.

Last-in Messages are not showing,
both PM's and on the boards.

The titles are there, just not the messages.

There is definitely a problem. Threads have no content and an invalid thread message pops up when you hit post reply.

We had a database crash last night and I did a restore from backup. I'm trying to figure out why it is missing only some posts though, it doesnt make much sense

It looks like it's mostly posts and threads from around the time of the crash that are having issues so I'm hoping we are ok going forward. I'm going to let it ride for a bit because the only other choice is another database restore which would take all day

yep posts are in the wrong threads. The preview when you mouse over it shows the correct message but when you open it its wrong.

But if you quote it its right. :confused3

I just replied to a "Do stores have sales" thread and the quoted text is wrong and what I wrote is from someone else.

All I have to say is good luck WebmasterAlex I work in IT I would be sweating bullets right about now.

EEk

When I click on the links emailed to me for threads I'm subscribed to, I either get an error message or the link brings me to a thread I'm NOT subscribed to.

Tracey -

This is happening to me too. I have a huge Disneyland/Christmas Time Information & Photo Superthread on the Disneyland side of the board, and when I clicked on the link in the e-mail to access the last post/last page in the thread, it took me to the WDW side of the board - some thread I had never seen nor heard of. The only way I was able to get into my thread was to go to Page 1 and then click "Last Page" from there. The e-mail link continues to send me to the wrong thread.

But...alas, when I clicked "Last Page" to get to the last posts in the Christmas Superthread, I noticed that the posts another DIS'er and I had submitted last night were no longer showing (at least, not on my end).

Alex! I mentioned you by name in my TR :) It is so frustrating as a West Coaster to have the time I'm available to be on the DIS ALWAYS the targeted time for the "updates" to be happening. Last night, I posted 3 updates with pics, only to have not only the update I was trying to post when it went down, but also the previous two disappear - I and others on my thread cannot get to the last page without hitting reply, and my color button is not working. I tried re-booting, but it didn't help. When I do hit the submit button, I get a page of error messages - with directories - that says fsockopen - blah-blah-blah not configured blah-blah-blah.

Would it be possible to give us "Westies" a break and let us use the DIS at night once in awhile, too. It has been several times a week for months now.

Thanks for all you do!

ETA: Looks like it is a miriad of problems - sorry for your troubles :)

Hi.

I am having trouble too. I can no longer see any posts or threads that I have posted in as when I click on my user name there is nothing there. It usually shows all the posts I have done:sad2:

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks so much:)

Sue

And in a bit of irony, the only way I was able to see the post on page #2 of *this* thread was by hitting "Reply". Navigation to Page 2 does nothing.

Sayhello

Thank you to all who worked so hard to fix the DIS this weekend! Funny to find how hooked some of us are on our plotting, planning and reviewing! A special thank you to Alex! :goodvibes
