Missing Glasses

We just returned from AKL on Sunday and while we were there the housekeeping crew picked up my prescription glasses and took them. I am sure it was an accident but I know for a fact that they were taken the day the room was cleaned. Does anyone know where I could send a letter to about this issue. Or possibly an email address. We filled out a missing report at the front desk but they did not seem to care to much.

Is it possible that your glasses had fallen onto, or had been on top of, some things the housekeepers threw out, and were tossed out in the trash? I can't imagine someone just walking away with eyeglasses, I think they must have some how been disposed of.

Unfortunately, there is little to be done in that case. Accidents happen. You filed a report with the front desk, and Disney gets probably a hundred pairs of prescription glasses turned in every year. It is doubtful Disney or DVC will offer any compensation.

maybe when they find yours they might find my maui jims with them.
just had new lenses put in them and this was thier first trip to wdw.
after several phone calls and WEEKS of waiting letting everyone check thier lost and found i pretty much got a sorry:rolleyes1
stayed at 2 different resorts and i have no idea when they got up and walked off.
at least my shades got to stay at wdw,i just wish i could have stayed with them.:cool1:

Try calling the resort's lost and found and central lost and found. Call regularly for a while.

We left a digital camera in a gift shop on a trip. After calling for 2 weeks to the resort and central lost and found, we decided "one more call" and someone had turned it in. It just took the right person with the patience enough to help us out.

We got our memories back.

Think positive and remember to be patient.

Disclaimer: No promises, but if you cant believe in pixie dust endings, this isnt going to work.

Good luck. DS8 lost his prescription glasses @ SSR pool -- the kind w/ the flexible rims -- very distinctive blue rims & one lens coke bottle thick. We called the lost and found on-site, checked w/ house keeping that day, the staff there the next day & day after that, called member satisfaction, left descriptions everywhere, main lost and found. DS has new pair of glasses. GRRR!

Disney Lost and Found returned my cell phone to me. It must have fallen out of my pocket. It was returned to me postage paid within a week of the loss!

Disney Lost and Found is great but it also relies on guests being honest enough to turn in found items in the first place.

My husband left his safari style hat at a restaurant in Epcot a few years ago. The hat had pins on it and I assumed it was gone for good. Someone turned it in and Disney Lost and Found mailed it to us at no charge.

Last week, my husband had the plastic holder on the end of his lanyard rip off on the Tower of Terror ride (we are pretty sure it was there.) We went back to ask if anyone had turned it in, but no one had. It had his annual pass and room key (both easily replaced) as well as a Fast Pass to Midway Mania. Guest Services was even able to replace the fast pass for us! We assume someone found the plastic holder and kept it just for the fast pass as the ticket and room key were canceled as soon as we knew they were missing and not turned in.
