I am feeling so nostalgic this year. Our first trips to Disney were always in April to enjoy the awesome weather there. Lately due to school schedules we've had to schedule our trips for later in the year. I am missing Disney World in April so much right now!!! :sad2: Is it me or isn't it just a beautiful time of year to be at the World??? :confused3

Thank God for Thanksgiving at Saratoga Springs - November 20th - 27th, 2010!

While we've only gone to WDW the last 2 years during the last week of April, I easily got used to going at this time - perfect weather and just a few Spring Break stragglers. We're taking our usual time off the last week of April this year but will be spending time doing many projects around the house - it will be time well spent but I will definitely be missing that Disney magic.

Me too! I usually have a spring/early summer trip to WDW but not this year. Next trip October.

DH & I are hoping to book April, 2011. I can't wait for the 11th month window to arrive. I'm glad I'm not the only fanatic that is feeling nostalgic for Disney in April.

We are here now as this is our Spring Break and we have been coming this week for years. We love this time of year but this trip we have had more rain - at least the first part of the week. And to us the crowds are bigger than we have seen in past years - can't imagine what next year will be like as Easter falls at the end of our week.

The Flower & Garden Festival is a favorite and we are at the BWV so we have been to EPCOT quite a bit. Tonight we were at the MK and it was packed. Earlier we were at Typhoon Lagoon and it was very busy even at 10:30! A cm said that BB had closed due to capacity!

In the morning we hope to get back to the MK to try to ride a few things that were too crazy tonight.

Me Me ME I miss it. We have been going to the Flower show on and off for the past 5 years I think we only missed 1 year. I miss my Spring Trip.

WOW! I can't believe how busy it is there right now. Especially since most Spring Breaks are over by now and kids are back to school. Enjoy the rest of your Disney in April vacation! :goodvibes

We went the last week of April last year and loved it. It was more crowded than we are used to in Jan and Sept, but still very doable. We also had perfect weather in the 80s everyday without a drop of rain. We just got back Tuesday from a 3 night trip. We couldn't believe how crowded it was. We thought, never again in April. I think there were still quite a few spring breakers. We also had 2 days that rained really hard which is tough with a short trip. Oh well, it was an extra trip to get in before our APs expired.
Sorry you're missing the world. I don't get to go again until Jan, and am already planning for it since it is going to be a solo trip for dh and I.

Solo trip! Nice! DH & I are looking forward to those trips in the future. My DD is 8 so I have a ways to go! That's awesome that u got a 3 day trip in. We try to make sure we take full advantage of our APs too. Happy planning for your Jan. trip!

We are in the same situation as OP that due to school schedules we could not make April work for us this year. We went early January and IMHO I think that is going to be our new favorite time of the year to go specifically for the increase in crowd size over the past few years in April. We sure have the itch and feel that someting is missing this month but I am sure we will start to feel the same about January after a couple of visits.:goodvibes

Most schools in our area had this past week off for Spring break. It is usually April 17 - 23 time frame that would explain some of the increase crowds. Still love our Feb break time frame, mid 60's - 80's most days (except for this unusally cold winter) President's weekend is a bit busy but we arrive on the Wed before so we have 3 nice days in parks take the weekend to enjoy the resort and by Tuesday the crowds die down a bit! I still look forward to the day we can plan our trips NOT around school vacations!

AMEN!! Our first trip with our DD was when she was 3 and I loved planning our trips (especially in April) without worrying about school. I pulled her out in the 1st and 2nd grade but now that she's in the 3rd grade no can do! One more week until my "April Without Disney Funk" is over! LOL! :rotfl:

Yea, we're bad parents. We have 3 dds that will be 7, 5 and 2 when we go in Jan. They'll only need grandma to watch them for 3 nights since dh will only be there for 3 of the 5 days I'm there for a conference. Heck, dd1 has been to WDW 8 times in her 6 years. I figure we deserve a little alone time. ;)

I've been sitting watching the promo videos for the DCL online anxiously awaiting sept to arrive for the DVC member cruise and 3 days at WDW. Need my Disney fix.
