Me and my DH have just returned from our 1st Disney trip after an amazing 2 week honeymoon with Mickey and friends and both of us are really missing Disney and need YOUR help to get us back!

We are looking to go mid January next year, again for 2 weeks, and hoping to cut some cost corners and get the price down to make it more affordable for us to save up in time.

We buy our tickets from ATD but are wondering if anyone knows of any flight deals or cheap flights and cheap good hotels (off site or even on site if the price is GOOD) that would help us cut back on costs, oh and a cheap reliable car hire place preferably NOT Alamo! (Queued TWO HOURS to pick the car up!)

For two weeks our costs were:

Flights £1,100
Hotel £850
Car hire (full size) £358

Please guys, help us get back to the Mouse and his friends!!! We are seriously on a Disney downer.

Hey congrats =) im from Bucks too where abouts are u?
im on a major Disney downer!! =(

Do you just wanna be at Disney or go to the other parks too?
Do you really wanna do the driving? Might be cheaper to stay onsite and use the buses x

BA and Virgin hae flight sales on at the moment, or you could reduce the cost further by flying indirect

Too early to be pricing up yet for next Jan but all your prices seem very expensive.
Flights in Jan I would be looking at £400pp direct £300pp indirect.
2 weeks full size car with Usrentacar/Budget £302 with gold cover. (free upgrade from intermediate)
Hotel name your price you will get something. Just looked for 2 weeks next Jan you can get a 2 bed condo at Windsor hills for about £500, or for about £600 courtyard by Marriott LBV. but offers have not started fro next Jan yet, they will get cheaper.
ATD also not the cheapest.

I've just priced up 2 weeks this October (which I think is a similar price to January) with Virgin Atlantic, direct. Adult price is £317! POP is £764 at Disney.co.uk

I'm seriously considering cancelling and re-booking!

hi and thanks :) we're in milton keynes - land of the concrete cows :lmao:
so if you were in disney last may - i take it the disney downer stays with you for a LONG while =(

park wise we'd like to go disney and seaworld. defo need a car as DH would like to see more of orlando outside the parks like daytona beach, miami, fort lauderdale etc. and because the roads are so large and pretty much straight i can actually navigate without getting car sick :rotfl:

how long did you go for back in may? did you stay on site? have you planned on going back yet?

Who would you suggest flying with?
Will definately look into Usrentacar/Budget as that is a lot cheaper.
Who would you say is cheaper than ATD?
Thanks for your advice, very helpful :thumbsup2

Wow!! Was that all through Disney.co.uk or did you look at flights through Virgin's webiste and hotel through Disney.co.uk?

All depends what you want out of a flight. I want to get from A~B as cheap as poss, don't care what they offer inflight, flown with just about every transatlantic carrier, never a problem with any. BA probably worst to New York, best North West Airlines last Oct. In Jan Virgin and BA usually do very good prices, if they do then its probably best to go direct, if they are expensive look at indirect options with around a 2 hour change each way.

Also look at other car rental agents. They all have offers for certain cars, dates. You might see cheaper for your rental elsewhere, as well as Usrentacar I use http://www.netflights.com/carhire and www.carhireflorida.net If possible register for the fasttrack service, Dollar its called Express, Budget it fastbreak, they allow you to go right to front of line.

Tickets depends which you want, some are cheaper direct with the parks websites, some from Virgin. Best thing to do is when you have decided what you want post best price you find then others will tell you if they are cheaper elsewhere.

I hope you find a great deal and im sure you will just shop around you got plenty of time too.

I'm from High Wycombe which is quite a way from Milton Keynes ive only been MK once last July for a Mcfly signing lol.

Just been looking around for you.
Found you an absolute bargain with Travel City Direct, now owned by Virgin.
Virgin direct flights staying at Best Western LBV, going 12th Jan for 14 nights. Total £1196 for both of you and only pay deposit now. Car probably cheaper seperate but check their prices and compare.
This was the 1st holiday I looked at could be cheaper dates, better hotels mess with the site and see whats available.

Description Price (£) Qty Total (£)
Accommodation price 564.00 1 564.00
Atol protection charge 1.00 2 2.00
Flight price 199.00 2 398.00
Booking fee 10.00 2 20.00
Fuel surcharge 106.00 2 212.00

Total for your holiday £1196.00
www.travelcitydirect.com

Another option is Virgin holidays flydrive, not as good as above deal and probably better taking car seperate but its another option £874.60 for both of you deposit only, extra discount if you are FVC member plus 4% cashback thru Quidco. www.virginholidays.co.uk

No problem, hope things turn out well. I am just in the process of recalculating our August trip with the $ taking another hit today. Just going to have a family discussion about the cruise we have booked, When we booked it at $2/£1 rate it worked out at £1,545, If I paid the balance today it works out at £1,895 a £350 increase. Off to number crunch and talk.

Hope everything works out for you both. I looked on TCD very good deals and i would be going this year if i didnt have to pay for my new TV and Wii in April =(
