OK, so...I think we've decided to book the Bering Sea Crab Tour in Ketchikan (booking through Disney). Since we don't get into port until afternoon, we're assuming our excursion time will be later, and there is a chance we'll miss our early dinner seating. IF (big if) the schedule of menus for the Alaska cruises stays the same as it is right now on the Wonder MR cruises, that will be lobster night. Not a big deal to me to miss it, but it might be to DH. So what are our options like? Obviously, we could try to book a late Palo dinner (yum!). How late are the dinner reservations for Palo available? Another option would be BBB for dinner, but we've never done that -- what is the menu like? Since it is a theme night, would they be serving lobster there, too?

Sorry so many ifs and unknowns...we are coming up on our date to book Palo and Excursions, and want to have everything all lined up and ready to go. Thanks!

BBB Is not a buffet at dinner - it's regular sit down and if it's a theme night, the menu there should be the same as in the other restaurants.

My advice would be to book a 8:00/8:30 Palo reservation. Ketchikan all aboard time is 7:30 so you should be back by 7:00 or so.

Another option if you are getting back late for early seating is to go to the late seating. We've done that twice on previous cruises. You can talk to your host the night before or by going straight to the dining room when you get back on board. You probably won't have your same server and obviously will be sitting at a different table, but you still get to enjoy the menu that night.

On the Med last summer, they noted in the navigators that those returning from excursions later than 6PM we're still welcome in the dining room for their early seating. We had late, so no issues for an no experience. My guess, they'll offer the same thing in Alaska if necessary.

The upstairs buffet restaurant (sorry, I'm blanking on the name) will be turned into a sit down service featuring the same menu as the 3 formal dining rooms.

This is what we did. We booked Palo dinner for 8 pm. Should give us time to get back from our excursion (different from yours but still getting back after our early seating dinner) an get ready for Palo.
