Missing College Courses

Hey, anyone ever have a problem missing courses for taking a trip to WDW? I'm going in November and will have to miss a week of class. Any professors give you any trouble?

I've had to miss class for random reasons every now and then, but never a whole week all at once. My classes move so fast I would get lost!
Most professors won't give you a hard time, but there are those select few that think their class is the only thing in the world that matters!
I would just make sure you're not missing any tests, and that any in-class assignments can be turned in before/after the trip. Also, tell your professors ASAP, they'll appreciate that you're planning ahead.

Ive missed a week of classes every semester for a vacation.
Yes, its alot of work that i miss..but i go ahead in my readings before i leave..i also turn in any assignments that would be due while i am gone.
Most of my professors have had no problem with it at all..
Im going on a cruise in November and already told all of my professors..no problems at all

i will also be missing classes in november for my trip to wdw. i already talked to my professors and just explained that my family and i have had this trip planned for a while and they were very understanding about, many of them asked if they could come along too! but usually the professors are very understanding about things like this. I also have a few projects due that week they said that i can turn it in before hand if i don't want to deal with it afterwards. but anyway hope everything works out!! have an awesome trip! oh my...i'm getting excited for my trip now! enjoy!!!

My freshman year I had to take a week off for university medical leave after emergency surgery and I had to miss a lot of classes afterwards to recover. I heard crap all semester about missing class and in the end it drastically affected my grade. I would never miss an entire week of class for vacation. I would miss way too much.

I just got back and missed a day of classes which was 5 of them. We usually plan a trip or two during the semester. I have never had any problems. All my teachers are understanding letting me take exams before I leave and such. Only 1 of my classes had a set number of days I could miss before my grade would decrease. It all depends on the classes you are taking and how comfortable you feel missing. There are some classes I wouldn't miss more than 1, but then there are others I wouldn't miss much if I just didn't show up. Good Luck!

They should be understanding, I mean your probably paying out the bottom to go there! As for if your school has a miss 25% of a class and you automatically fail policy like mine that might be a different story. I mean medical reasons are one thing, but trips are a whole different thing. I dunno, just go talk to the professor like everyone else said I guess.
