Had a FP for 6:07 on July 4th. Ride was broken down when we returned and it never re-opened the rest of the night. Very disappointed. It was broken down a couple times earlier in the day as well.

I'm really considering dropping my FP+ for FEA all together and just not worrying about trying to ride it.

Part of the reason I didn't book a FP for it. Used mine for Soarin.
If we happen to get on, we get on. If not, There's always next time

Can't you go to Guest Services and see if you can rebook it to another day, or was it your last day?

I think that it is nonsense, (bordering on cruel), for them to even offer a FP+ for FEA until it can become more reliable. With tiered attractions, choosing FEA is an "opportunity cost" that precludes you from getting a FP for another major ride. And if you can't use your FEA FP, then you lose twice. So they should either make it a Standby only attraction, or drop it down to Tier 2 for the time being so that people can still get a Soarin' or Test Track FP in addition to their "maybe I will and maybe I won't" FP for FEA.

FEA went down for us on the afternoon of the 4th, but they offered a FP for any other attraction. We held onto the FP and were able to get on FEA late afternoon, just before it went down for the rest of the day. If you FP it and it goes down, you can use your FP for any other tier 1 ride.

Yes we were given an opportunity to ride any other FP attraction but we had already been on the others. And this was toward the end of the night.

We were in the line on the 4th too, just before it went down. It was one of the only rides we were willing to wait in without a FP (they do have great AC!). I was so sad when they told us we had to leave because they had no idea when it would be back up. Glad they offered the FP for those who were willing to wait for it comeback up.

We did enjoy getting to use the FP on TT before we left.

Such a bummer! So sorry you didn't get a chance to ride! After the ride went down during our FP window, we were stalking MDE for it to open again! We high tailed it over when we saw it was back up. Sounds like we got lucky!

We were there on the 4th as well, but thought that might happen a few times. We chose not to FP this attraction and instead did standby at rope drop, 30 min wait but was worth it to experience the attraction without burning a FP on it. That will be our plan for future openings now as well.

Us, too. We had ours for 11:25 on the 4th. Got an email at 11:00 saying that the ride was down, and we could use our FP for anything else. This was our last day, so we held out as long as we could, but we ended up using the FP for TT. Right after we got through the FP checkpoint, TT went down. I was not a happy camper. Luckily, TT came back up about one minute before we would have had to jump out of line, so we did get to ride.

On the plus side, we had an amazing M&G with A&E at Royal Summerhaus. It almost made up for the situation at FEA. Almost, but not quite. Luckily, we are going back in less than 2 months, so I hope to ride then. But I feel bad for everyone that missed out.

I disagree. We had FPs for FEA two days after it first opened. We would not have been able to ride it without them.

So sorry to hear about all the trouble people have been having with this new ride. I am really hopeful they will have it straightened out bu the time we go in December.

We had a FP for it on 6-25. Got on and got to the first section and the ride broke down. After several attempts to restart, they walked everyone off of it and we were given paper fastpasses to use on another ride or to come back. We went back on the 27th because we saw it was up and running--stopped at Norway for lunch and about three minutes after sitting down, the FEA closed again. We ate, hung around World Showcase and kept watching the app to see if it was going to open again--it did! Success! We actually got to ride it! Although they're still trying to find our picture from that time...........

That is metaphysically impossible. Let's look at this logically.
  • While you were there, Standby People rode the ride, (up to the point when they limited the ride to FP only).
  • You could have been a Standby Person. Ergo...
  • You could have ridden the ride, up to the point when they limited the ride to FP only.
And, more importantly, if there were no FP, then there would have been no FP people cutting you off, making it even easier for you to ride the ride. And if there were no FP, then the ride would never have been converted to "FP only" and it would have been Standby People who would have taken up all the seats. So, in fact, had there been no FP, it would have been easier for you to ride the ride. The only thing that you would have had to do to get on the ride was to get in line.

Our FPs were for 3:20. We arrived shortly after that, and waited about 30 minutes to ride.

There's absolutely no way it would have been a 30-minute standby had they not offered FPs.

Maybe. Maybe not. We don't know. The standby wait time is dictated by how many FP people are cutting off the standby people. But even assuming that the wait was 120 minutes, you could have gotten in line and waited 120 minutes. That isn't even close to the same thing as saying "We would not have been able to ride it without [FPs]." You absolutely could have ridden it. You just wait and ride like everyone else.

Fair enough. We WOULDN'T have been willing to wait 2+ hours to ride it without FPs. I was happy they were offered, and that we had them.

Understood. But if the ride had been shut down from 3:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. as others have reported, then you would not have been able to use your FP. At which point you would have been offered an opportunity to get a FP for "any other attraction", which actually translates to "any other attraction with availability." At which point you would have been shut out of Soarin' and Test Track and would have gotten an unnecessary FP for Nemo or Figment, at which point you would have come here and barked. You got lucky that you were able to secure a Tier 1 FP and actually use it. Others are finding out that their Tier 1 FP is unusable, and they cannot swap it out for another one. That is a pretty rough thing to have happen.
