Missed my flight!

At PhX airport now. Crazy traffic this morning. We ended up missing our flight but instead of being frustrated I made the best of it. Not too bad. Was able to rebook on a flight 2.5 hours later. Could have been a lot worse. Had breakfast with the family at the airport and boarding in 45 mins. Let's hope the rest goes smoother.

How did rebooking work? Did you have to pay full price and what airline was it?

meh, not the worst thing. Who cares? you are going to Disney!! I'm sure it was frustrating, but once you are at the hotel relaxing with a drink, it will all be good! Enjoy!!! Hope the rest of the trip is fabulous!!!!

Airlines don't really do that. They can see that you're there inside a certain time and they generally just put you on the next flight.

Dh, his work TA, and I once caused him to be 24 hours late for the one flight out of maybe panama going to his location (it left at midnight and we all got mixed up with dates), and they just put him on a new flight. No extra charges.

Thanks everyone! I'm 35,000 feet in the air as I'm writing this. I'm on southwest and actually it was better that I missed the flight. Seeing that it's first come first serve and my family and I would have been split up if we did make it. Didn't have to pay a dime more! Went very smooth. I originally had a change of planes in St Louis now it's in Atlanta. Getting to Orlando about 2.5 hours that I would have. Still looking to tweak some plans. Wifi is pretty slow but great for reading DIS boards!

Seeing that it's first come first serve and my family and I would have been split up if we did make it. Didn't have to pay a dime more! Went very smooth. I originally had a change of planes in St Louis now it's in Atlanta. Getting to Orlando about 2.5 hours that I would have. Still looking to tweak some plans. Wifi is pretty slow but great for reading DIS boards!

Just for a second I thought this said "Wife is pretty slow..." Glad you were able to get another flight relatively quickly. Speaking of wives...DW travels for biz quite a bit and she has the process of getting to the airport just in the nick of time down to an art form. This, however, makes me a nervous wreck as I'd much rather get to the airport, grab a coffee, and chill for a bit rather than run the risk of missing the plane. We've never missed a flight, nor a chance to make me a sweat a little while boarding a plane.
