I'm so sorry that Cookie is not doing well. She will let you know when it is time so don't feel like you have to rush into anything. Listen to the vet, but do what you feel is best for her, and what you think she needs.

I'm not sure of Mary's exact dates, but I do know she arrives the same day I do. She might be staying later and might be moving on to Vero after that? Mary will have to confirm all of this.

My plans are to be there from June 6 (Thursday) and I fly home on June 12 (Wednesday).

I will work all day on Thursday and then Mark is picking me up at the office at 4:30 to drive me to Midway Airport where I will catch a 6:50 p.m. flight to Orlando. I land around 10:20 p.m. I will grab my luggage and then hustle over to the ME bus to arrive here:

I love Old Key West and can't wait to be back there again. We are, however, only staying the one night before we move to a brand new resort for me (not sure if Mary has stayed there before or not).

I just think these studios are really nice:

It will obviously be very late when I get in and I'm assuming Mary and the girls will be getting ready for or already in bed (Mary still has to make her airline reservations). Hopefully, the girls will go to sleep as they'll have a big time difference with Arizona.

But we will all need our sleep before getting our luggage transferred to our new resort and hitting our first park.

Sounds like you are off to a late night start... no parks that night, for sure!

I am so sorry to hear about Cookie. I know how hard that decision is. I had a poodle for 18 years growing up. Had my kindergarten pictures taken with her and then had my senior pictures taken with her. She was the last dog we ever had... no other could have compared.

Kathy, I'm so sorry about Cookie, and having to make that horrible decision about her. I don't know if you remember what I went through with my cat, Nina, a few weeks before my anniversary trip last year, but it was awful, we found out she was sick one day, and the next day we had to decide to put her down, it was one of the worst days of my life. It's almost been a year that she's been gone, and not a day goes by that I don't miss her. Sometimes I still think I see her sleeping on my bed. It's awful. But it's even more awful seeing them suffer.

Anyway, travel day sounds great! I actually visited OKW with my sister on our trip, it looks SO pretty, but it's HUGE! I was so overwhelmed!

Wait - our trips overlap? It does appear that way. I arrive on the 8th and leave for Daytona on the 15th. How about you?

Mary got her intros up so please be sure to go back and read (Page 1, Post 6). I'll finish responses tomorrow and do an update on my arrival day plans. I got home late as I had to get my nails done and then go pick up our tax returns which were finally finished.

Trying to talk Mark into another trip to Disney since we got a refund.

And we have to have a talk tonight about Cookie; we have an appointment with her vet a week from Saturday (March 30). We may have to make a decision which will break our hearts.

My heart goes out to you Kathy!! I have been there and it is the hardest thing in the world to do , even though you know it is the right thing !!

Kathy, so sorry to hear you are needing to make a tough decision about your dear Cookie. I just don't think there can be anything harder to do. They put their trust in us to care for them and they love us unconditionally. All we can do is our best to give them a great life. We know that's what you've done for her. You will know when it's time to let her go....

I'm so excited to meet you and see Mary and the girls again. They are so much fun to be with and never fail to make Marc and I smile! We should have a great group of DIS kids around the pool. Good times await us!!!

Oh Kathy, I am so sorry about Cookie... We had to make the same decision for our Rufus last year (hard to believe it's been a year already), and it's so hard - absolutely one of the hardest things I have ever done in my life - they are like our children in every way.

My friends here on the Dis gave me some great comfort during that time, and they shared with me some very wise words, all of which really helped me see through our loss.

I offer you many hugs, and the insight in your heart to know when the time is right. I wish I could say more to make you feel better. (((Hugs)))

Love seeing OKW pix... we stayed there in 2007 (before the refurb) and have been wanting to go back...we really liked the resort, the feature pool and the easy boat ride to DTD.
