My DH and I were pronounced Mr. and Mrs. Psycho at our wedding!!! Since then I've gotten sicko, ****zgo and more.
Until you posted this, I completely forgot that our pastor announced our last name wrong at our wedding, too. As I mentioned in a previous post, there is a last name that's very similar to our last name, and he gave us that one. DH's grandfather was not happy. :rotfl2:

I am forever being called Melissa, and my name is Michelle... Also, neither my married or my maiden names have an r in them, but people have always managed to find a way to fit one in!

Yep I have this problem too My Name is Miranda And people say Mee_Randa. my daughter has a pretty easy name Summer. so lets hope no one screws that up

My DD's name is Brianne. "BREE-ANN"
She is always called Brianna. "BREE-AWNNA"

I think the reason she started going by Bree is she was sick of correcting everyone! :earsgirl:

P.S. I always thought Alissa was pronounced "ALL-LISSA" - sorry

Oh, don't worry about it! :goodvibes

DD's name is pronounced the same way. Her spelling is Alysia.

That is the third one on this thread! The name is pretty uncommon, I rarely hear of anybody else with my name- cool! :teeth:

It's a pretty name and not too common or too weird :goodvibes

People always say my last name wrong. Luck. Yes it's that simple and they get it wrong. :confused3 And don't forget all the jokes that go along with having names like that :rotfl2:

My nephews name is Eli and has been called at the doctors office, "Ellie".
My maiden name was ALWAYS mispronounced, I don't think anyone EVER said it right when they called. they always added too many sylibals and letters that aren't there.
Now that I am married and have a really simple last name, NO ONE can spell it right and often the A is erased and they say it with a U. :confused3

That's funny - my maiden name is Italian and ends in "a" and people always change it to "i". I guess they just have a preconceived notion that all Italian names end in "i".

My first name is Lisa and people like to change that to Leslie.

My last name is Italian too...It ends in an I, i always have people change it to an O

My first name is Charity..I've been called Chasity, Cassity, Cassady, Carrie, Rudy, Judy,,,sigh, thanks mom...lol

We kind of did the same thing to our daughter..:/ Her name is Rayne, Pronounced Rain she had been called Ryan, Rainey (rthat doesn't bother me) and Raina (also doesn't bother me.)

When I was a Cast Member at DRC, I was given the cast name of Zineb. Yes, it's unusual, Apparently she worked there before, and when she lefther name went up for grabs, and I was the "lucky" winner. I don't care how carefully I pronounced the name... I always got. "Thanks Jeanette" or "Hey Annette! That's cool, you're a Mousketeer" I didn't try to correct them, I just giggled.

Try having an italian last name... NUCCIO... it sounds like New C O
but for some reason everyone tries to make the C into a Z :confused3

Oh and as for Stacy... I have been Daisy, Tracey, CeCe and Stephanie

and we won't even get into how many times people put an E in my name

I now say Stacy E not included

My last name is always getting mangled, but that doesn't bother me.

What makes me go :earseek: is when they mispronounce my first name. It's supposed to be "Reg eeee na", not the dreaded "Reg eye na." :earseek: :earseek:

People massacre my first name. Its Tricia. T-R-I-C-I-A. Not Patricia, not Teresa, not Pat, Not Tresa.......Grrr! I get so tired of telling people its "just tricia".

And then my married name. Never had to spell my maiden name, 4 letters, common word, easy. My married name is a common French Canadian name. There are 3 ways to pronounce it. The true french way and the two ways american families with that name pronounce it, so I typically cut people some slack, but you should hear how people massacre it beyond that! If giving my name over the phone, I just tell people I will spell it first.

And, the way we pronounce it, it ends with an "ee" sound, so everyone assumes we are italian. The Italian community has not cornered the market on the "ee" sound people!

The name is very uncommon down here in SC now that we have moved here, so people kill it!

Sometimes when we make reservations at restaurants we use my maiden name, just easier!!

My name isn't pronounced wrong but many people that know me well still misspell my last name.

I had the weirdest thing happen to me once at a pharmacy. My name is Sheri - it always gets misspelled, I'm used to that, not a big deal. So, the doctor's office had phoned in my prescription. When I picked it up, my name was spelled Sagri. Now, I had never had it butchered like that before, so I just asked them to change it in their records please.
I said, "It's Sheri - S H E R I." She said, "Well, that's how we spelled it." :confused3 I had to repeat the spelling to her again before I figured out why they spelled it that way.

My first name is Patty and I get called Peggy, Debbie, Betty and Kathy a lot.

My last name is Sheehan and I get Sheen, Shaheen, Shanahan, Shannon.
