Now this makes sense. I have a co-worker who met her daughter (who is in the military) at Disney in May. Because she knew I was a Disney nut she asked me a thousand questions (it was her first visit since the early 80's). One of those questions was about pool hopping. I of course told her it was not allowed. Well, she went and told me that pool hopping was allowed and they indeed pool hopped. She said she asked one of her resort CM's (they stayed at Shades of Green) - that told her its now encouraged. My co-worker was told that it allows guest to 'see' other resorts. This is a 'perk' for onsite guest. She said it makes you think about paying 'more' for different resort on your next visit. At first I didn't believe her, and I even thought of posting a thread about it, but declined. Now, I'm sorry I didn't believe her. It makes sense to me. What better way to allow guest to see around the WDW Resorts and allow them to pool hop and then say, "I'm staying here next visit". She did say it was two resorts she couldn't hop at, but she couldn't remember the name of resorts.
The refillable mugs usage was clear when I saw the NEW generic mugs. Why would one go to another resort - just to get a soda? I can see both pool hopping and mugs as a new perk! I know the pool hopping is a perk for the DVC members, and has been for a while.
