My doc gave me a trial of Mirapex today for RLS. Does anybody have any experiences with this drug?

My 76 DM takes it to help with Parkinson's, the shaking aspect. I was about to ask if you had RLS and somehow missed that part. But she has not had any bad side effects from it.

It works GREAT for me! The only problem for me is the expense. I have pretty severe RLS and Mirapex works much better than Requip. I tried Requip which is very affordable, but for me gives me severe flu like symptoms.

So it is Mirapex or nothing, and right now nothing is not an option.

I had really bad RLS too... Mirapex didn't work... Requip did. But when I wanted to get pregnant I had to quit Requip. My doctor tested my iron and it was "normal" but in the low end of the range, so he put me on iron... Viola! No more RLS.

No, but you seem very young for RLS.

I've had it since I was a kid. I know this sounds silly, but when I was little and didn't know what it was, I thought it was because my legs wanted to keep dancing (I was a competitive dancer). I never told my parents about it because I didn't know there was a name for it or that it was a problem. (Other than being really annoying and not being able to sleep.) have

I have a very hard time with any long periods of sitting because of it. I used to have a three hour night class where we all sat in a circle and it was torture because I really needed to move and jerk my legs but it was embarassing because everybody could see me. I tried so hard to suppress it that I couldn't concentrate well. Just this past weekend Aaron's sister was asking me why I kept jerking my legs in the car when we went to Nebraska for their grandma's funeral.

Sorry to hear that. I just started having problems with it a couple of years ago. I assumed it was because I was getting old. What a shame to have to deal with it for so many years.
