I've destroyed 4 of them, so I've given up. Yes, they do flatten everything out very nicely, but the fabric is VERY chemical-sensitive.
One thing that they do NOT play well with is aerosol sunscreen, actually any kind of alcohol at all (so don't spill a margarita on one, LOL) -- the fabric completely loses stretch and most of its density as well; it starts to feel like georgette on the damaged places, and actually becomes rather transparent in those spots.
Using them in indoor pools is also hard on them, the extra chlorine has an effect on the stretch as well. I washed mine with Suitsaver, but it didn't help that much.
That said, if you want one, the cheapest place to get them (other than if you get lucky at Ross - I did manage that once, but I'm not that wild about the look of that suit) is normally an Eddie Bauer Outlet. Failing that, the Eddie Bauer catalog if you get a coupon code. Macy's could give you some discount with a coupon, but watch out for exclusions.
My favorite Miraclesuit is the Oceanus. However, as I said, I've given up paying anything near full price for them, so I've been shopping the Land's End shapewear collections for the last couple of years. I don't find them quite as effective at squashing the unfortunate parts of me, but they cost about half as much and are much more chemical resistant, so I've decided I can live with that. Last year's LE suit was great; it's a Valletta bandeau tank, and wouldn't you know they are not making them anymore? (They still have some left in the overstocks, but not in my size.
