Just back from a quick visit, and I have two main questions (actually, one main question in two parts). Actually, it's a rant. But bear with me:
- What is up with Orlando traffic lights and radio stations?
Here are my beefs:
- Whoever timed the traffic signals appears to have used a calendar, not a stop watch. At light after light, it felt as if we were sitting forever waiting for the signal to change. I mean, I had to shave again and touch up my gray I was waiting there so long. What's going on with that? With all of the east-coast immigrants who have settled in the area, you'd think they would adapt the signals accordingly. I'm just sayin . . . .
- While spending my soon-to-be golden years waiting at these traffic lights, I had ample opportunity to explore Orlando's radio spectrum. It appears to be pretty evenly split between stations that play 70s rock and Spanish-language stations. I have no beef with the Spanish stations, and in fact enjoy listening on occasion. My complaint is with the rock. As nostalgic as it was to hear Bad Company and Grand Funk Railroad, I would like to alert the management of these stations that there has been music, some of it good, created AFTER 1980! Trust me, it's out there, you just have to go looking for it!
Okay, I'm done. Thank you for your time. I now return you to your regularly-scheduled Disboards . . .
