Minnie Vans ramping for a comeback?

Won't van drivers still require some specific job requirements, like I'd assume a CDL of some sort? So they can't get too picky. Or they will leave themselves no choice but outsourcing, no?

For people who didn't use the service, the "van" part of the name was because of the pun. Minivan. Minnie (Mouse) Van. Get it?

Most of the vehicles were SUVs, not actual vans.

But I don't know what the job requirements are.

And what PP said is true; in the past people have intentionally made things up just to see if bloggers would pass along the incorrect information. I'm not saying that happened in this particular case or to this particular blogger, just saying that you don't know for sure that information is accurate until it is released by Disney itself.

I used them a lot, so yeah, I'm well aware they drove Chevy Traverse and Suburban. Chevy doesn't make a van. So, no vans for the Minnie Van fleet. unless you count the accessible vehicles.

I thought the drivers told me they had CDL but I could (probably) have a faulty memory. I spoke to the drivers about their jobs with them a lot. Many of the ones I spoke to were GS CM (plaids) Only a few were bus drivers. I believe they used "plaids" only when it first rolled out but again, I may simply be misremembering.

In Florida, unless the GVW is more than 26,000 pounds, carrying hazardous material, or carrying 16 passengers or more, a CDL is not required.

They are different here. (I am a chauffeur with Mears.) Bus drivers need CDLs; we need chauffeur’s permits.

It would be great if they could be back for Memorial Day weekend. Not having that option during a busy long weekend would be leaving money on the table for Disney. Hopefully they get the staff trained and have the fleet running!

Before they went "offline" with this service, it's popularity was already causing extended wait times to snag one. The moment they come back "online" availability will probably be even worse. I too eagerly await to use them again, but don't expect they will be available every time you try to get one, especially during any busy times.

I don't know, but remember that they each have 2 car seats ready to be installed so that would take up space where your luggage would go.

Ha ha I didn't even think of that. (Somebody asked if they could use a Minnie Van to move themselves and their luggage from one resort to another during a split stay; I said that the 2 car seats ready to be installed would take up space where the luggage would go. PP correctly pointed out that if the group had kids who were sitting in the car seats, the car seats would not be taking up space where the luggage would go.)

Only one needs a car seat, 3 'adults' and luggage x 4. Would probably be a stretch.
