Just got stuck in the rain at TL, buses were packed, went to get a LYFT and Minnie Vans popped up as an option! Picked it, Laura was there in three minutes and we didn't get stuck waiting.

They are running on a select basis as a percentage of LYFT request. Ramping back up for the end of June.

Very grateful they are back as they have car seats.

Saw a thread on that recently. Apparently they are only giving rides around Disney property and not yet going to/from MCO.

I don't know what the price is going to be, but shortly after the announcement came out I went on the Lyft app and chose a trip from SSR to AKL and saw Minnie Van as an option. It was about $50 at the time.

Wow. That’s steep.

We used Minnie Vans several times when they first came out. I think the rate was $20/$25? It was more than an Uber/Lyft but worth it.

At $50 I’m not sure I would use them. We use Lyft in WDW and have never had a bad experience. I’d expect Lyft would be around $30 cheaper than the Minnie Van if MV costs $50 plus tip.

I was wondering about the price, especially with gas prices being what they are compared to pre-pandemic. I thought the fare was a flat $25, $50 is nuts.

That's what the app showed at that particular time. I didn't book a ride and I haven't seen Minnie Van's as an option other than that one time. We'll have to see what the price ends up being.

With gas price on the increase I was expecting at least $35-$40. We always rent a car, but of course that's now skyhigh.

This is where Disney is genius and evil. Everyone wanted MV back so they can charge what they want .

In December 2019 we took Lyft from AKL to WL and back from WL to AKL. It cost between $12-just over $13 each way. At the time I also priced a Minnie Van, but it would have been in the mid-$40s so we went with Lyft instead. $50 for a similar trip would not be an unreasonable increase.

I concur. As much as I loved Minnie Vans the prices were hitting ouch. With all that has happened to see those 35-45 rides headed to 50+ is not surprising. Demand was huge even at 35-45 during peak times.

Alas there is a serious psychological block for me at $50. I can still see myself using the accessible vans if traveling with our ECV fam member a couple times a trip but I think the splurges on a normal trip might be over at that level for myself.

how much does everyone tip for trips? if one ride is same distance but one is 25$ and the minivan is 50$ you cant really tip based on cost.. is there a base tip that im not aware of?

It is based on the cost
Just like a meal.
I would think $5.00- $10.00 at least

Remind me, was it through the Lyft app before? I need to make sure my app is all set up again before our trip. We loved them so much last time.

I don't think you can tip for Minnie vans. when they first started you could but it was removed from the left when you asked for a Minnie Van, it's because the cast members are paid the same as if they were a bus driver or limo driver and they weren't considered to be a tipped position by Disney. That being said if you have them help you with bags or something like that you could probably give them a cash tip otherwise there is no tip.

That changed not long after the service was rolled out. They are a tipped position now. Also, you should ALWAYS tip limo drivers.

An auto tip is frequently added for LIMO service. I don't think you have to tip if a 20% tip has been added to the bill.
Im talking about real limos, not vsns, towncars etc. I dont think.auto or included tips are as common
