Hi DISers,

We are going to Disney World in 116 Days :cheer2: and I am so excited. I love everything Disney and this was a surprise trip for my family. I have already started planning, researching and buying things for the trip.

My DD will be 7 months when we go and we are flying for this trip. (We usually drive because we take our camper and stay at the Fort.) Because this trip is a short trip we wanted to fly so we would get the most out of our days plus we are going with my niece who is doing the Dance the Magic and all the dancers stay at the Port Orleans Resort.

I have been reading all the different threads on flying with strollers and strollers in the parks. My first thought was to carry our DD in her car seat carrier through the airport and on the plane. Then we would have the car seat for the bus ride to the hotel. Once at the park we would rent a stroller from Orlando Stroller Rentals to use during our stay.

However, a few things have made me rethink this and decide to take my own stroller. My DH thinks that it will be easier to have the stroller at the airport and just check it at the gate. When I went online to look at purchasing a stroller I found the Minnie Mouse Indigo Stroller. Of course I love it because it's Disney. However, I'm trying to justify spending the money.

Does anyone have this stroller? If so what do you think? Have you taken it to Disney? On a plane? Is it worth the money?

Thanks for any help you can give me.

I'm not familiar with it, but I was curious so I googled it and read the reviews. I think my biggest fear would be gate checking it as several users had complaints of it feeling flimsy. The price also made me :scared1: that seemed like a lot (to me) for a vacation stroller.

And though I know you didn't ask, I'll put my vote in for a Maclaren. I've got the Quest, which while not suitable for a newborn, it would be ok for your DD at 7 mos. I had a travel system, but purchased the quest as a WDW (we live an hour away) and for flying or cruising, which we do often. it's lightweight and compact, something that's appreciated on WDW transport. And I learned when my dd was about 13 months old she preferred it over the big Graco. Both were in the house for vacuuming (Cheerio removal!:rotfl2:) and she pitched a fit when I wanted to use the Graco to walk to the school bus stop. So the quest became our stroller of choice all the time. Other than a little fading on the canopy, it's still as good as new, and I've put it in the closet to save for the future. It saw 5 years of hard use, several flights and countless WDW trips.

I think your right. I continued to do some research on the web and I just can't justify spending that kind of money. I really liked the Citi Mini that Orlando Stroller rents. It looked really easy to use and fold up for getting on and off Disney transportation. Plus I like to travel as light as possible when flying. We are only on the plane for a little over an hour (Georgia to Florida). I'm thinking it would be much easier to rent a stroller once we get to Disney.

I also found someone who makes these Stroller bags on etsy and she has a Minnie fabric. With that and a stroller license plate from the Creative DISigners it should be Disney enough for the trip.

Thanks for the info. I think I just needed someone to remind me to stay in budget! I can get a little carried away when it comes to Disney.

You can't use a carseat on the bus from the airport - there are no seatbelts. If you are not buying your baby a seat on the plane and you're not renting a car, then you really won't need the car seat for anything.

But if you are buying your baby a seat on the plane, you'll need her carseat.

As for the stroller, what kind do you use at home? I can't imagine not having one for the airport. I'd bring your regular stroller from home to use at WDW.

I have a Chicco Stroller that came with the car seat. It is really big and does not fold up well at all. In fact my Mom and I went to Kroger today and when she opened up the back of the SUV she said "where are we going to put the food - the stroller takes up all the room".

While we were at the outlet mall today my 3 month old kept crying and fussing which is really unusual. I had her in the car seat and it was attached to the stroller. My DM took her out and removed the car seat and put her back in the stroller sitting up where she could see. She was as happy as could be. She loved the stroller after that.

It folds easy but is still so big and heavy. I just think it would be a nightmare at Disney.

This is exactly why I bought my Quest. I had the Graco Quattro, and that thing is a beast! I was surprised she preferred the Quest, the Graco looked more comfy to me.

I'm going to have to look up the Quest. I really like the video of the Citi Mini so I might just purchase one of those. I just hate to drag it to the airport. The good thing is that we have three adults and the other two kids are 8 and 10. They can help out too.

albeebaby has the pink/black city mini for $150! It's a FANTASTIC deal on an amazingly perfect stroller.

Yep! what PP said! The $150 stroller at albeebaby.com is what got me looking into buying instead of renting. We're going to be there for 10 days, so that's 1/2 the cost of a new one. They also had another color or two on clearance, but not that low $.

Anyway, so after searching and thinking...I decided to get the 2012 model. Got it for $212 at justkidsstore using "bump15" code for 15% off. We sold our Graco stroller to get this one b/c we hated folding it and getting it in and out of the SUV.

If you're interested in the City Mini, I'd encourage you to go try it out in the store. We put our 9mo in and strolled around the store. Loved it! You may even decide you like it better than your travel system stroller.
