TRAINING UPDATE!!

I did 9 !!!!!!:cool1: It was brutal, very strong head on wind, I felt like I was moving in slow motion, or not moving, but I knew on the way back the wind would be at my back!! I did it at 9:30 pace, so I am going to have to kick it up a little to run with Stephanie and DH!!:rotfl:

disneyfanz04, Jen and Leana - I would probably like to leave the hotel at 4:30!! I hope that is not way too early Jen and Leana, if it is let me know!! :confused3 I would like to leave my car at Epcot and want to have PLENTY of time to get bus, take one last nervous bathroom break, etc. I am a little OCD about this kind of stuff. :rolleyes:

4:30 is no problem Angie, I'll see you in the lobby to make sure we are ready to leave on time. If you see a blonde girl wearing a running skirt and squinting but not noticing you, that will be me! I won't have my glasses on, so don't be surprised if I don't spot you right away!
 
UGH...last night I told DD that we were going to walk every day(even if it was just a little walk) until we leave and don't you know I wake up this morning and it's SNOWING...:scared1:
 
Angie- ok, the neurotic side of me won over the grumpy morning person side, so 4:30 it is! (But I'm telling myself 4:20 to make absolutely sure I'm there on time.) I'm thinking I may need to buy a hat after all- it's going to be a bad hair day all day long! I guess I'll add that to the list of extra stuff to drag with me. ;)

Hey there all!!!!

Only got 4kms in yesterday. I will really pump it up in the next 2 weeks and get my cardio level back up. I think I took off too much time with my back. Like I have said before i am not going to break any records just finish in time.

So I should aim to leave the hotel at 4:30, 4:45 ish. I will make sure I am at Epcot before 5AM. DD is going to be miserable at that time in the morning.....lol

Thank you for all the advise, I think I will get the jelly things or gummy bears.

I got alot of packing done yesterday, just need to add my clothes which is easy right now since the weather is so cold here I don't need out my shorts and tank tops....

What is the temps at night??? Are shorts still OK for the evening time???

Salt - For the marathon they told us to take a packet at start adand mile 16 or 17. If you're used tyo the heat and have doen your PRs w/o needing it (or the capsules), you shoul dbe ok. I know I do not do well in the heat (and I am south of Kim even ;) ), so I will definitely do salt (or capsule) pre-race.

Robert - Thanks fro teh info aon teh endurolyte capsules. ALthuogh it's not awful doinga salt pack, a capsule would be much easier to get down.

OMG! I have't even thought about when to leave the hotel yet! :scared1:

Powerade - for marathon it's always in cups. I would *think* ythat's standard.

Here's what will be on my body for the race: 2 8-oz bottles of Powerade, camera, cell, chapstick, salt, sponge and mp3?.

Robert - Have you heard anythign about WDW enforcing the MP3 rules more? SOUnds like some races are confiscating them. I'd hate to be w/o for the plan eride home. Still not sure if I'll use it or not, though.

What will I be carrying - Maybe my own bottle of Powerade in my hand (JIC), a belt with my camera, Body Glide, and sport beans. I'm going the no mp3 player route. I've been training w/o it, and hopefully there will be enough distractions on the course that I won't need it.

Wow folks, only 2 weeks and 2 days till I leave. Here is hoping the time flies by... :tinker:

In my case it was taken from the BC store, but yes. Same ones. ;)
 
Holy Running Shoes, batman! Look at your tickers!:scared1: We're just over 2 weeks until leaving and, what, 18 days until the run??? I still feel rather unprepared, but I'm willing to go with that.

I ran 7 miles today, alas, on the treadmill because I had a morning meeting and the sun refuses to rise any earlier just for me.;) The good news is the weather here is finally beginning to "spring" it up! Hope it spreads across to everyone! I'm counting on my banana, h2O, and gator/powerade along the course to get me through. Hope I'm not too crazy.:confused3 I do find that if I'm well hydrated before a run, I generally feel better.

How's the training, friends? Any word on your last long run? Have you planned that one out, too?

A moment of reflection for our Boston Marathon runners..........I've been thinking of them today and the lousy weather.:sad1: Hope they're not too sad about it.

Vicki - Actually, 18 days is 'til I leave. We have 21 days to the race. Feel better? ;) I did 10 this weekend. I think it's 8 coming up and then 6? the following week.

Just realized that the running hat I ordered is not here yet (26.2 and still smiling). I have to put it htrough at least 8 miles for me to not worry about it in the race. Looks liek I may need to do some shopping. Drat. ;) Anyone seen a red one with whit polks dots? I'm thinking that would be awsome. :teeth:
 
My running plan for the next few weeks:

Week of April 16: 5 m - 3 m - 7 m
Week of April 23: 5 m - 3 m - 8 m
Week of April 30: 3 m - 2 m - RACE!

210 days...well that is plenty of time to get ready. ;) Although that will be one heck of a trip to Disney, 192 days with the mouse. :lmao:

Judy - lol. What's smore surprising is that we have not even take about what time to leave yet with the planners in us. ;) OK, you'll wake me up, but wil I have time to tie my shoes 20 times?
 
I know people were discussing mp3 players (was it here or the main thread?).

Anyway, I always train with my music.
I always race without my music.
Disney has enough going on, that I really don't think you need it.
Even during my 'Half From H#ll' a couple weeks ago in boring rural NH - I didn't miss it.

I dunno - maybe I am just weird or something! ;)
 
I'm not doing the Minnie *sniffle sniffle* but I wanted you all to know that I will be totally green with envy :bounce: after seeing the photo of the medal in today's email from Disney. That is the kewlest looking medal!

I'm sooo going to be there with you all in 2008!

Bring home lots of medals team and wear them proudly in the parks!!!! :cheer2:
