Minnie making kissing sounds?

On our last trip Minnie at Chef Mickeys and Hollywood & Vine made kissing sounds as she was hugging you. We found this a bit odd and umcomfortable.
Has anyone else experienced this?

The masked characters at Disney Parks have always made this sound when you hugged them and I have never figured out how they did this? But they also make a popping sound when they finished signing autographs so I guess it's part of a gesture they do to guests when they meet and greet
