Minnie headbands bad?

In my family it really depends on the size of your head. My younger daughter wears glasses, and obviously has a small head (because she's 10 lol) and has zero issues, but I have a large head and can't wear the ears even without glasses because I immediately get a headache. My oldest daughter can wear them for a short while, but if she has to wear her sunglasses it's usually only an hour an then they end up in her park bag until she wants to take pictures and she'll take them out just for that and then put them away again.

When I buy them, I "test out" a few by gently pulling at the headband part - because some are slightly bigger than others. This way I can figure out which is the biggest size in the style I want.
(I have a large head, but don't wear glasses - just for reference. Most headbands and womens hats are too small for my head.)

The mouse ear headbands give me a terrible headache after just a couple minutes. I have an average sized head.

I have trouble wearing most things for too long on my head, I must have sensitive nerves in my scalp. I took a Figment headband, slit the side, took out the plastic band, and sewed the fabric shell onto a comfortable hat. I get compliments from CMs constantly. I also like having a brim and headbands don't allow for that.
Could you please post a picture for reference? My daughter really needs to wear hats because of her fair skin, but the headbands are so much cuter and have more variety. Plus, baseball caps can be really sweaty.

I can’t wear any headband all day without eventually getting a headache. This includes soft fabric bands. But I have a smallish head, so I can wear Minnie bands intermittently. I think the key is to take them off periodically for some rides.

I love my Minnie ears, but I cannot wear them with my glasses. Not because of headaches, but because it kind of hurts behind the ears with glasses and they don't fit quite right.

Without glasses, I would say it is hit or miss with whether or not it gives me a headache. My older ears definitely do. The newer ones are a bit softer, but still not always comfortable all day. I have to have a bag that will fit ears for when I want to take them off.

They do make elastic ear headbands, but I haven't tried them to see if they are better, more comfortable, or just as nice looking.

There are "ear holders" available on Etsy. I haven't tried one yet, but it's a looped piece of fabric that will attach to the outside of your bag. You slide the headband through the loop, and then the fabric snaps in the middle so the ears will stay in place.

This is what I was going to say - I have also found that the headbands are not all exactly the same size/fit. CMs will even let you try them on before buying to make sure they fit okay.

The hat I got from Target. It's flexible straw. A cloth hat would probably work well too. Just be aware it makes whatever hat you put it on heavier. I pinned it in different places on the hat until I found a place that didn't push the hat down too much on my head.

I LOVE these. I hate having to try and fit an ear headband in my bag without it getting smooshed, the ear holder works great and doesn't take up any additional space.
