Minnie and Mickey and Harry!! Oh My! Chase's Wish Trip 6/23-6/29

So I have a sick child on my hands. Poor Chase started getting sick when we were in Florida. It seemed to be pretty minor at first. Just some allergy problems. He didn't do too bad this week. A little cough here and there. But today he spiked a fever, has been sleep for most of the day and has actually refused every meal. That is so unlike Chase because he is my "Garbage can man" :rotfl: we call him that because he normally eats EVERYTHING! So hopefully he will perk up tomorrow and I am praying that he doesn't start wheezing :(

Thank you guys for reading my little TR! It makes me feel good knowing people are reading :)

Oh i'm so sorry to hear Chase isn't feeling so well, he's in our prayers

Once our encounter with the stilted men was over we decided to really focus on doing some fun things for the little ones today! We headed over to Woody Wood Pecker's Kidzone and saw that a Barney show was getting ready to start! We went inside the area and Courtney was chatting it up with some really nice people in line with us. The wait for the show was about 15 minutes, but we were in a shaded area and the kids were okay. A lady came out on stage named Miss Peek a Boo and did a really cute Pre-show! Once her little skit was over a TM took us inside first and we got our pick of seating. We chose to sit up front because Chase LOVES Barney! It was nice and cool and comfy inside. Thekids really loved the Barney Show and I have to admitt I was even singing along. The sons he sang were the same songs that I used to sing with Courtney all those years ago. Even Courtney was up doing the "Boppidy Bop!" After Barney and his gang finished up, Miss Peek a Boo came back on stage and told us there were going to be pictures with Barney. Then she turned to us, gave us a wink and held up her finger for us to wait! Once the room cleared out she came down to us and told us that we would be first in line to take pictures with Barney! Yay!!! :wizard: More Pixie dust!

Chaseswishtrip135.jpg

After we finished taking pictures with Barney the kids were able to play in the play area which was really nice. Nana went to the Barney Store and got Chase a mug with his name on it. Of course they didn't have Selah's name and Courtney didn't want one lol.

After we left the Barney play area we went on the Woody Woodpecker Coaster 3 times!!! :rotfl: We all loved it!

I pulled out my trusty map to see if there was anything else we should do when I saw an E.T. ride. Now E.T. was definitely during my time and I'm pretty sure that I tried to make Courtney watch it a time or two...but she wasn't really all that interested. The little ones have never seen it but now I'm going to make sure that they see the movie! The ride was really cool. Once we got inside they took our names and gave us passports. Towards the end of the ride E.T. called all of our names. It was really a nice ride. It's like you were on a bike traveling through E.T.'s world.

We weren't ready to go just yet! We still had a good bit of energy and the kids were doing great. We really managed to stay hydrated with lots of water and diet soda :rolleyes1 thanks to our refillable Spongebob souvenier cup and we got plent of popcorn to snack on along the way!

We decided to give the Simpson's ride a chance!

At first we couldn't figure out where the ride entrance was and Chase wandered off which drove all of our blood pressure up quite a bit. I guess he was trying to tell us in his own little way where the entrance was because he was standing right by a TM talking away and waving at us saying "Over here for the ride guys!"

Right before we went in we noticed Bart! So of course I had to get some pictures with him!

Chaseswishtrip132.jpg

Chaseswishtrip133.jpg

Courtney, Selah and my mom went first and me and my little guy hung out in the child swap area. It was nice and cool and had a tv with the simpson's on it. There were a few other families there and one of them gave Chase a BloPop Sucker! Chase LOVES suckers so he was in candy heaven!

Once they all came out of the ride Courtney told me how awesome it was so I decided to try it myself. Selah wanted to ride again so I got on with the girls! Very cool ride! I enjoyed it a lot!

We were starting to get pretty tired and we figured we better ride maybe one or two more rides and then head back to the villa! We all agreed that Shrek would be a perfect end to our day! So we headed over to the Shrek movie and boy did I enjoy it. Chase, not so much. He did not like it one bit. He was afraid from the minute we stepped inside of the "Holding area." And when the movie came on for some reason he hopped in my lap and held on tight to me for dear life. Now at home he LOVES the Shrek movies. At one point there was this scene with spiders and he almost had a mini stroke.

We knew it was time to leave after that. So we took our long trek back to the parking garage. We were sad to say goodbye to Universal!

Once we got in the Jeep I think everyone's stomach growled at the same time! :lmao: Since there are so many choices to choose from close to the villa we figured we would pick a spot and grab some take out and eat it back at GKTW. We found this place called Pollo Tropical and decided to try it out! Boy am I glad we did. We wanted to try something that we didn't have at home. Pollo Tropical has grilled chicken and a things like beans and rice and good veges and Key Lime Pie!

We got our food and took it back and devoured it! Chase ran around the villa scared of spiders for the rest of the evening. At one point he even climbed on the table because he was convinced there were spiders trying to get him :lmao: I can laugh now but poor thing!!!

Here are a few leftover pictures from our two Universal days!

Thank goodness Chase is feeling much better today! He's already had two breakfasts and is begging for me to let them get in the pool today. I think that's a very reasonable request so after a little cleaning up and a little relaxation, I guess I will get them ready for the pool and do a little barbecueing today. Seems like a great day for some burgers, corn and fruit salad!

My next update will be our First of three Disney Days! We did Ohana's, Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom all in one day...yeah I got a little crazy! But we had sooo much fun!

Is it just me, or are those dancing girls' shoes adorable??? Figures that's the detail I'd notice. :rotfl:

At least you got some special treatment in HP, even if you didn't get to see everything. Sounds like they were great with you guys.

I love the Egyptian guy story. Selah will probably have dreams of her "hero" forever!;)

Good choice for the food. I love trying new things. Sounded delicious!

Simpsons was a fave of Tessa's. I spent the whole ride watching Phoebe's face.

I was very pleased with the treatment we got while at Universal. I wrote down the names of all of the great TM's we had, the date and approximate times that we were there. I figured when I'm doing my thank you notes I may as well include them. They really helped make our trip that much more special. And I am convinced that if they could have snuck us into some of the stores In HP they really would have! That's okay though! I am determined to go back!!

And I loved watching the girls faces during the Simpson's ride. Until the part where Maggie sneezed on us :rotfl:

I am also a pretty major HP fan! :)

I was thinking, Durmstrang! Durmstrang! Snogging Harmione. :lmao:

I actually am in the middle of listening to the books on tape. I like the books more than the movies - because the movies did not really capture everything I remembered from the books - and my imagination always "looked" different than the movies.

Looks like you guys had a GREAT time in Hogsmeade and I am so, so glad that you guys were able to go and got the royal treatment! :cheer2:

Maroo, I was actually wondering about the books on tape! I am really looking forward to the new movie release in Novemeber. I normally re-read the series right before a new movie comes out and this time I was thinking about doing the tapes. How do you like it? I've never done a book on tape before so this would definitely be new for me! I agree about the books being way more in depth than the movie! I was hoping they would get into the house elf story a little more, but I guess the movies are already long enough :lmao:

After two days of Universal we were all definitely ready for some Disney action! I knew with everything I had planned for our first of three Disney days that we would definitely have a healthy dose!

I woke up and did my walk and stopped by the front desk to ask for directions to the Poly. I kind of figured it'd be easy to find, just wanted to make sure.

We all got up and ready and were out of the village with plenty enough time to be there for our reservations at Ohana's! We got there and they told us they were running a little behind. No problem, I had left the video camera back in the car so I had to go back to get it. Once I came back and sat down, the pager was going off! Probably because I had stopped along the way to take pictures and admire how beautiful the Poly was!

I just can't seem to get a good picture with everyone smiling!!

Chaseswishtrip155.jpg

Chaseswishtrip156.jpg

We went inside got our leis (I guess that's how you spell it lol) and took pictures. I have to say that the pictures turned out awful :rotfl:Chase was coughing, Selah was pouthing, my mom was getting ready to sneeze!! They were just terrible, but I got them anyway!

So we get seated and the kids are really out of sorts. Chase was very fidgety and did not want to stay in his seat. Selah was following Chase's lead! Her silverware dropped under the table and she's on the floor UNDER THE table messing around, trying to play Peek a Boo with me. Uggh. I was going crazy! But our wonderful waiter was very attentive and before we could say Lilo, our food was on the table and BOY was it good!!! We LOVED the pineapple bread and the eggs were delicious! Chase LOVES sausage so he had quite a few of those. And the juice was yummy and I am not a juice person. I like it, I just don't drink it much at all. It was very loud at Ohana's and I think it was a bit much for Chase. He kept trying to get his self together but there was soo much going on. Finally the characters started coming out and Selah and Chase thought it would be a great idea to just run up to them  We had to explain to them that it would be their turn soon enough!

They finally started making their way over to our table and boy was everyone happy!

There was soo much going on that I just couldn't get a good picture in no matter how hard I tried!

Chaseswishtrip167.jpg

Chaseswishtrip168.jpg

Now after all of that running up to Lilo, Stitch and Mickey we couldn't get Chase to get out of his seat for anything!!!

I was so proud of Courtney for getting all of the autographs!! She did such a wonderful job! We really enjoyed our time at Ohana's and was even more happy when they started the parade!

Again, I tried really hard to capture the magic, but it just was not working out!!

Chaseswishtrip175.jpg

Not sure if Chase was actually getting sleepy from all the good food or what? lol

Chaseswishtrip176.jpg

Breakfast was a hit and we were ready to venture on to Animal Kingdom!

Now I should mention that although I've been saying all along how hot it was while we were there, I think this particular day was THE Hottest!!! I mean we were literally roasting and melting!

We get to Animal Kingdom without getting lost! and I have to say that's a beautiful park! We tried to ride Kali River Rapids, we were allowed to enter through the fast pass line and even that was waaay too long to leave Nana and the little ones out in the hot sun. So me and Courtney made the trek back and decided to find something we could all ride or do together. We were really hot and all of us were extremely crabby. We had our misting fans and we wet some paper towels but nothing was working. We found some ice cream and that helped a lot. We decided to watch Flight's of wonder. We thought it would be inside and cool but it wasn't :rotfl: It was however, an awesome show and I'm glad we went in anyway. It was a show all about these exotic birds! The kids were really into it!

Chaseswishtrip184.jpg

Chaseswishtrip183.jpg

After we left there we passed a spot where Nana noticed none other than Pochohantis!!! Chase wanted NO parts of her But Selah and Courtney were very excited!

We noticed that there were only about 5 kids in line so I decided we would wait behind them! A CM came up to me and said: "Hey what are you doing at the back of the line?" I told him I didn't mind because the line was short. He said not to be fooled, lol. The parents normally put the oldest child in line and hold onto the younger ones and then when it's their turn it takes forever. So I looked over to where he gestured and sure enough, there were at least 20 kids!! :rotfl: He escorted us right up to the front and Pochohantis was more than happy to meet us!

Once the girls were finished with their pictures we headed up front to a fun dance party with more characters! Chase was still not interested! He was comfy in his stroller with the misting fan and a bottle of water!

Chaseswishtrip197.jpg

We checked out our Times guide to see if there was anything going on that we should go check out and the Lion King show was going to start in about 25minutes. We wandered over to that area and came in contact with some really nice CM's they parked our stroller for us and told us to come on up the show would be starting soon! We followed them and were so excited to have a front row seat in the cool air! Chase was feeling a little better and was actually smiling and talking! After a good bit they started letting everyone else inside and the show started. The show was absolutely awesome! The kids really enjoyed it! Chase was a little scared and it was pretty loud. But I put his hat on him and covered his ears and he did a much better job!

The girls got to be in the parade towards the end of the show and that REALLY made my day!

We left the Festival of the Lion King show and took the safari ride! We really enjoyed the bumpy ride! Chase LOVES looking at all of the animals and even started making up names for them!

Here are a few pictures I took along the way!

For some reason, I really liked that old tree!

Chaseswishtrip201.jpg

After the safari ride we took turns with Courtney riding Expedition Everest! What a cool ride! My stomach dropped when I saw the end of the track at one point!! I actually closed my eyes!

By this time we were all miserable all over again because the sun was out and the heat was ON. We were startving and were getting ready to leave to go back to the villa to cool down. We couldn't decide if we could wait until we got back to eat or if we should find something to eat at AK. Chase decided for us. He said he was hungry and wanted a new drink. We went to Yak & Yetti and there was no wait. I remembered that a lot of people liked eating there from reading so many TR's! So we gave it a try. I ordered the Sweet N Sour Chicken. My mom had Bourbon Chicken, the kids split and wasted a burger. And Courtney had the Chilli wings and some of my Sweet and sour chicken. I have to say I thought the food was average and way too pricey for the portions and the quality.

On our way out we did get a chance to see the parade! We LOVED it!

After we left Animal Kingdom we all decided to freshen up and change clothes. The girls wanted to try the spa and Chase wanted to ride the Maggie Round and the train. Nana just wanted to take a nap and have some peace and quiet! So off we went. The spa wasn't open so we played in the castle and went over to the Train station for a bit! They had a great time over there and thought it would be great to have some ice cream and cookies! The chocolate chip cookies were so DELICIOUS!!!! I had two :cloud9:

When we got back to our villa nana was dressed and ready! We were all ready to head to Magic Kingdom to ride and see the fireworks!!

I am enjoying your TR so much! The pictures are so great and it looks like you got awesome treatment at Universal! That is great to know. We are not Harry Potter fans, so we may just skip that part. Animal Kingdom sounded great. I think that park is hotter than the rest of them, it always seems to be HOT there! Can't wait to see what the kids thought of Wishes!!

I have heard that AK is hotter than the other parks. I wonder why? Sounds like you guys trooped through it okay.

I love the pics of the breakfast because I completely understood what your meal was like. You captured it perfectly! :rotfl:

Loving the TR , and way I look at it, There is never a bad picture ever :goodvibes ty for sharing !!

The lush vegetation there traps the heat and humidity. It is a lot hotter at AK than any other park...but so worth it...the theming there is unbelievable!

Thank you very much for reading! I think that the Universal parks are really good for people who have older kids and really love to ride. IOA has a small amount of things for little ones to do, they do have a lot of cool superheroes so people/kids who are into that would really enjoy it IMO.

AK was definitely hot! We did enjoy our time there more than I thought we would have and I'm sure if it weren't so dang hot we could have actually stayed a little while longer!

Unfortunately most of our meals away from home are like that!! :rotfl:

Loving the TR , and way I look at it, There is never a bad picture ever :goodvibes ty for sharing !!

I love capturing the kids in the "raw". Those pictures are the ones that really show their personalities!

That must be exactly what it is! The theming was really awesome. I think the park is absolutely beautiful!

Once we headed out to MK we were really all excited! It is truly a magical place and seeing the palace put a smile on all of our faces! Plus the temperature had cooled down a little so that made it even better.

We wasted no time finding a photopass guy and taking pictures! We also wasted no time getting to the rides! The way I figured it, we spent two days at Universal and although I'm positive that Chase really enjoyed seeing the superheroes and spending time in the WWOHP, this leg of our trip was definitely for him!

We did the Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor! That was a hoot!!! We all laughed a lot and really enjoyed the show! We went on to Buzz Lightyear's ride and rode it three times ;) That was one of Chase's favorites! We rode the mad teacups and then we watched a musical show. We missed the parade but LOVED the fireworks!! I remembered Chase's hat and covered his ears and he did great! Selah LOVED the end when Tinkerbell appeared! It was a long day and it did take us forever to get to the front of the park and return the stroller. I thought it was going to take forever for us to get on the monorail but it wasn't too bad. What did kind of tick me off was that people would not put their strollers down and that not only took up a lot of room that other people could have used, but one families stroller was on my mom's toes the whole time and she did nicely mention it to them but I guess they didn't care

All in all I say this day was great! I couldn't wait to go back again in a few days to explore the rest of MK! I'm not sure why I don't have ANY pictures on my digital camera but I did manage to finally get our photopass pics uploaded!

I woke up and went for my usualy walk. I decided to let everyone sleep in because we were beat from yesterday! We actually had breakfast reservations but I cancelled them to let the kids sleep in a bit. We slowly got up ate breakfast and went on to Disney Hollywood Studios!

Chaseswishtrip232.jpg

I told my mom that maybe we should split up a bit to get more accomplished. Courtney was starting to get really bratty about riding "Big People rides" my mom was getting really frustrated because it was so hot and the kids were so "busy" :lmao: And I just wanted Chase to have a good time!

So Courtney found the American Idol experience and went to ask some questions! She came back and said that we should come over with her because she really wanted to do it! So off to AI we go. We talk to the people and all of us can't go in. So I told my mom to go in to the audition with her and I would take the little ones and start exploring!

So me and the little ones go watch the High School Musical Show, grab a few drinks and some popcorn! We watched the show for a good bit and then went over to the Mpuppet 3D movie! I was a little worried that Chase wouldn't like it but he did. I told him that if he got scared to just lift up his glasses! It worked out really good.

Chaseswishtrip240.jpg

When we were in the Muppet show my mom sent me a text message and told me that Courtney made it through to the 2nd round of the American Idol experience! I was so happy and proud of her!! I knew that meant we still had a good bit of time to kill but I didn't want to wonder too far. So we found this cool little car that I knew would keep Chase occupied for a little while because he LOVES cars!!

Chaseswishtrip241.jpg

Chaseswishtrip242.jpg

We walked around a little more and saw a ton of Characters and trust me I tried to get photos with all of them! That FOTL for the character photos was just awesome!

Photo0034.jpg

I was trying really hard to get Chase into the whole picture business but he was not to thrilled!

Photo0035.jpg

I tried to show him how fun it could be!

Photo0037.jpg

And he did come around a bit! And of course, Selah never needs any convicing!

While we were in line my mom and Courtney found their way over to us and Courtney actually got a few pictures in with the Little Einstien guys as well!

Photo0046.jpg

Photo0047.jpg

After the cool photo session Courtney told me that she made it pretty far in the AI experience. They wanted her to stay for the shows, but that would have pretty much meant that we'd be tied to staying at that park for a while and Courtney really wanted to ride and eat and be with us! I was very proud of her and told her she should be proud of herself for getting so far! She got some really good feedback from the judges. So now ontop of her new found sewing interest, I will be getting her private voice lessons this fall!

We moved on to ride the great movie ride! I think we all liked different parts of this ride. I loved seeing all of the different eras of movies and the props were so great! We ended up going over to Toy Story and riding that ride 3 times!!! We LOVED it! Chase was in heaven!

I knew there was no way we could leave DHS without watching the Little Mermaid show so we made our way over. We had some really great CM's that let us have first choice of seating so of course we chose the front row! The show was awesome and Selah LOVED it!
