My fiance and I want to sign up for the Go Red for Women 5K in May, but he's a little concerned about being the only guy. I understand men are allowed to participate (right?), but do many men actually sign up? Any thoughts from any guys who have done it?

I think we'll do it no matter what, but we're just curious about what to expect....thanks!

Hi KQAN :)

Check out the Minnie Marathon thread and you'll find quite a few of us men who have signed up either to run solo, or to run with our significant others :goodvibes:

Only thing the men lose out on is the shirts, since they are all female shirts (double for you LOL).

Sign up and join in on the fun!

FYI: The 5K shirts last year were cotton and unisex sized. Only the tech 15K shirts were women only. That will make a difference when signing up.

I did both races with DW and she scored on the tech shirts.

Another guy here doing the 5K (with my 11 yr old DD). Don't worry there are others!

Thanks,
Dan.

I'm signed up for the 5k and 15k. Just look for the lime green loin cloth. I'll probably cruise the 5k at 10 mpm and will try to stay between DW and the sweepers for the 15k.

DH will be walking with me! We'll just need to stay ahead of the sweepers :thumbsup2 He was worried he would be the only guy there. So glad to hear there are others as well!

Thanks!

DH will be in it - celebrating his 80th bday so wish him a HAPPY ONE please!
I'll be BEHIND him I'm sure! :lmao:
