Minne Marathon Team List

Thanks Nancy, I thought it was you. I will let you know soon. :)

Quick question for all of you!

DH will be on his own with the kids the morning of the race while I am running. We didn't order any special tickets as he and I have AP's and we have 10 day hoppers for the kids. I see from the park hours that EPCOT opens at 9 AM, but I am hoping to finish before then :scared: !!

Will they let my family in to EPCOT to see me finish or not??? Is the finish outside EPCOT (like in the parking lot)?

I am starting to freak out!

Oh, yeah, and I just started antibiotics for a bronchial infection - haven't had a full night's sleep in a week. So IF I am feeling a little better tomorrow I will attempt a long run of 7 miles.

I wasn't out to set the world on fire with my time before I got sick so I am just hoping now that I can finish! At least I am sick now! I would rather that than be sick on our vacation!!!

The finish is in the parking lot of EPCOT so they can see you finish without a ticket.

Good luck and get some rest. This close the miles mean nothing for the race but your health does!

Thanks for answering so quickly!!! It is greatly appreciated!

Now if only I could get Mary Poppins to help DH with the kiddos on his way to EPCOT!

I copied this directly from the Disneyworld Web site. I don't see any EMH Sat or Sun-May 3rd or 4th for Epcot to open early?? On the 3rd it's opening early, but remember the 5K is that day and mainly in EPCOT, I don't think it runs through Hollywood Studios??
If the web site is wrong I apologize.

My bad! Looks like things were updated from when I printed them off of TGM's site! Good thing we generally don't make plans for the EMH anyway! And it looks like I have some more printing to do! Thanks!

Hey all you MINNIE's out there!!

I did my (walking) MINNIE 15K today.
9.3 miles in 2hr14min53.45sec., that's a 14:29 pace!! :cool1:

I guess I don't need to worry too much about being swept.

ONLY 2 MORE WEEKS UNTIL THE MINNIE 15K!!
At this time we will all be across the finish line, taking photos, hanging loose, drinking water, and some of us (including me) rushing back to my hotel room to shower and change before the 11am checkout!!

Take care everyone!

I've signed up for the 15k too. :cool1:
My husband is going to walk with our daughter in a back pack carrier so if I am unable to make it he can give me a push.

i did my Minnie practice today as well... didnt do so great. 9.1x miles and it took me 2 1/2 hours, so im just above the 15 min/mile pace...

do they do 15:00 or 15:59 ??? cause technically 15:59 is a 15minute / mile pace... :lmao:

Cut pace is 15:00. The marathon(and half) are 16:00.

Race excitment will get you over the hump:)

Christine: Hey the 15:59 sounds good to me. I'm thinking as long as you make it to HS you should be good.(don't quote me on that because I really have no idea)
Us walkers will stick it out and make it to the finish. The adrenaline will push you a bit at the beginning so you will probably go faster than your normal. That will help you make it into the parks and hopefully out of the range of sweepers!!! Keep up the good work and think positive!!

All I can say is we are very lucky that the 15K starts early in the day! I live in FL and did 8. 4 miles today, starting around 1045am. ( I should have started earlier, but my bed was so comfy :rolleyes1 ) It was SO warm! My pace definitely suffered, but I still managed a 15 minute mile pace. I usually can do 13 ish minute miles outside in early morning or evenings.

Amy: Here in SE FL it was definately cooler in the AM. I was out the door at 6:45 and probably should've been out earlier. Nice light breeze and about 72degrees, but about 69%humidity. High today was 84. Took a nap later as I iced my leg and feet.
Finally had to break down and turn on the A/C. Goodbye windows see you again in Nov/Dec maybe??

thanks guys ... im going to TRY to do another 9 mile-r next Sunday, but we have Race For The Cure Saturday, so who knows ???

i just want that medal... :) i now KNOW i can do 9+ miles, just have to work on speed just a tad... im hoping the momentum will carry me through.

Christine: Just don't overdo. I would hate for you to be pooped at the Minnie. Listen to your body. Your smaller walks coming up would be good for some speed drills and that will help you when the Minnie comes up. Don't be too hard on yourself. You can do it.

:goodvibes Welcome, glad to have you at the Minnie 15K. :goodvibes

Congrats on everyone doing a practice 15K. I've already done mine and planned to do it again today but shortened it to 5.5. The wind here was 20 mph with gusts to 40, it was 80+, I decided the wise thing to do was cut it a little short today. I'll do several smaller runs this next week and one last LR next weekend, then I know I need to taper. The taper will be the hard part for me, but I know it's important so I'll do my best.

Well, add me to the list of people who had their first Minnie "dream" last night!!! Everything from i forgot my sneakers - and had my crocs on, to having to go to the bathroom a million times ---
And i am only doing the 5k!!!! LOL But, it is my first ever race! ;)

I really think the humidity is what gets me. It was that and the fact that the trail I was running pretty much had no shade whatsoever!

Our electric bill was at an all time low last month, I am expecting it to be creeping up again due to the A/C :sad2:

I don't know that I will be able to get another long practice in..I am thinking maybe some shorter runs where I'll work on my speed a little.

Morning all!

So, I'm feeling the pace pressure too. I did my longest so far this past Saturday. 7 miles. Those last few miles were tough! My avg pace was 14:59! eek! I'm now a bit worried about making it to 9.3!!!

I did it from Morehead, NC to Fort Macon, NC. Exactly 7 miles. There was also a bridge crossing over the Intracoastal Waterway so I got to practice a nice hill! I was out from 11-1 and it was warm. My arms got sunburned! There was a nice breeze though.

I have 8 miles scheduled for next weekend. Let's hope I can keep that pace under 15. I am banking on the excitement of WDW to get me through!

Good luck everyone!
Stacie
