Minne Marathon Team List

Tiger Lily - I am pretty sure I met you at both last year's Minnie start and Earl of Sandwich meet as well as at the start of the Chicago Half Marathon in August. Hoping to meet more of you this year as we bid a fond farewell to the 15K :sad2:
Good that you are coming! It is such a fun event. I remember talking with you, but I must say I am horrible at names/faces so if I walk right by you please do not take it personally. I am very slow that way, not like Anne who remembers everyone!

Tiger Lily, thanks for the words of wisdom and inspiration. I am so inspired by the 'Wish Team'; you all make all of us newbies feel so welcome and help us realize that we can do our first 5k, or 10k, or 15k, or even our first 1/2 marathon or full marathon. :goodvibes

Actually, it's misplaced. I told troublemaker Optimator/Mike that it was everyone SCREAM TEAMING that made those people smile. I just happened to have the camera ready. THAT'S the truth! :thumbsup2
What's the deal? Using my name in vain over here thinking I won't see?

Just like Roz from Monster's Inc. I'm waaatching, Always waaatching.

Can Spectators get in MGM or Epcot to watch the 15K? Will they need a park pass? If I wanted to go Scream Team for the 5K can I get in the park?

Thanks.
Cindy

No they don't let spectators into the parks for these races, it's not at all like the marathon. Which kind of stunk as a runner! The only place you can scream team for the 5k is at Epcot parking lot at start and finish. For 15k you could scream team outside entrance to MGM or on Boardwalk, but other than that, again the start at AK or finish at Epcot.

Hi. Seeing this is my first Minnie, and my first trip to Disney in May, I thought I would pick your brains. :confused3 I wanna order the Original Wish shirt, as opposed to the race ready - with the FL weather in May, is it more wise to go with a tank or a tee? I know part is personal prefernce, and I'm hoping, no wait, I will be more fit, so a "covering" up, won't be as much as an issue. So long story short, I know they are wicking, and look incredibly comfy - but what are your preferences?

thanks much

Me personally I would say a tank. I am from Florida (its already in the 80's) and actually the majority of the running shirts I have are tank style. I only have 2 shirts that are tee style and one is the TOT tech shirt. Today I went out and wore a tank and I would say definately in May the weather will be even hotter.

Stacey, tank. I wear the tank and whatever race/jog bra under that so whatever shows may see pic in my siggie, but at least I've got some sort of cover. I think the other way is a bit too warm for me.

I agree that the tank is the way to go for the Minnie if you get the original WISH shirt. I got a lime green running bra at Target and wore that underneath.

Stacie - I have a pretty massive running bra and it does not show under my tank at all. Being frm NY, I'd definitely go with the tank. If oyulook at the shots from teh race, they do not show that much.

Tank it is then! Thank you so much for your responses! I don't mind too much if my sports bra shows - just don't want my arms flapping in the breeze :lmao: which just means, I have to start working more on my upper body as well as my lower! :lovestruc

And now, back to the computer to work my fingers! :rotfl:

Question for those who've been to the Minnie 15K before ... Is the packet pick up available both Friday and Saturday? If it's available on Saturday, is it much more crowded than Friday or still manageable?

TIA :)

Yes packet pickup is both days and neither day is crowded at all. IT IS NOTHING LIKE MARATHON!! You shouldn't have a problem either day :)

Book my airfare yesterday. So now have a room OKW, minnie registration completed and now the airfare. All that is left is to continue my training.

Hello fellow Minnie Marathon participants :flower3:

I was so thrilled to have met some of you during Marathon Weekend at the Donald. I have to admit, now that I've completed my first 1/2, I completely hooked on this marathon thing :thumbsup2 . In addition, I'm in awe :worship: of the folks who participated and completed the Goofy ~ you are an inspiration to us all.

See you again in a few months ~ Ruth

Hi! Can you add to Larry's Girl (Susan) and Mom (Bettie), DD (or is it DF Dear Dad/Dear Father) (Bob). Susan is my sister and both my parents are doing it!!! My dad is in his 70s! His first 5K Ever!!!

It would be much better if got a cool Minnie Medal instead of a dress medal... :goodvibes

Stacie

Anne - could you move me to the list for the Daisy Double? I registered for the 5K as well as the 15K, so :woohoo: I'm in for BOTH!

So now you've got me thinking. Is there a separate medal for running both the 5K and the 15K? Like 3 medals? Or just one for each? If there were 3 medals for running 2 races I just might have to sign up for the 5K as well....

Sara - sadly it isn't like the Goofy, you just get two medals.
