Does anyone book minivans with national anymore? No matter when I look or what codes I use the price is out of this world. I have 2 trips for this year planned and have both with Dollar. They must never have these rented. WHo would pay the price?

I have been following prices with Alamo and National since October and the prices really took a huge leap in January and hasn't budged. We were looking for a Chevy Trailblazer. Right now, an economy is more than what the Trailblazer was in December:sad2:

That's funny you should say that because I looked at National among other rental companies and most of them were like $800-$1200 for 10 days, which like you said is completly ridiculous. We booked with Dollar last year and we will use them again this June. They were only $444 for 10 days.

I have never found anyone cheaper then national. We rented a minivan in november for 10 days and paid $246!

bumping..........I am curious also. We have a Trailblazer booked for 13 days for the end of June with National in the amount of $369.00. I really want a minivan. We have never paid more than $200.00 for a minivan before.

airfare is out of this world too. it is crazy between airfare an car rental.

Not sure how you did that unless you had a bunch of discount codes. I just went there again a minute ago and it was $810.00 for 10 days in early June. And I'm an Emerald Club member!!! Almost twice as much as Dollar.

we are renting in Pompano Beach and returning to Orlando this month, and thanks to this site we got a minivan at $250 for 1 week. I also have suv or minivan from Budget at the same prices.

Hey Kitzer - I used the National code #5063773 and coupon ND2119071Q that alot of people are using. I know there have been some discrepancies about the code and coupon but there are some recently that have used them with no problems. Waiting to hear more. One thing I have learned over many years, you can check the prices of airlines, rental cars, etc 10 times a day and the price will change. My price came up one day and I booked it along with a few other quotes. I and many other people just hope something better comes along. This is ridiculous!!!!

I found the American Express deal with Dollar the best deal around.
Minivan for 1 week is $177.00 base.
Of course, you do need an AMEX card to pay for the car.
Not sure what would happen if you booked it and didnt have an AMEX.

National has two categories of minivans--the expensive one is the seats 8 Sienna. A Chevy Uplander (seats 7) is less than 1/2 the cost of the Sienna.

Yes but even the Uplander is out of this world. National is at least $200 more than Dollar right now.

I booked a minivan with Dollar for $209 a week. That was out of Tampa, don't know the rate for Orlando. We rented with them last year and we didn't have any problems. You do have to click on "Specials" to get the $209 rate.

Dollar beat the rate of everyone else. I used the code OCVB and got the rate of $199/wk for a minivan, and $229 a week for a premium SUV (seats 7). we booked the SUV.
