Minivan Rate?

I personally would not use these old codes for organizations that I can't claim any affiliation with. The stress of wondering whether it will work or not, up at the counter or when I get my receipt on the way to my flight, simply is not worth it to me. I made my ressie for October several months ago, using codes I'm entitled to (actually just the emerald club code), for a 5-day emerald reserve 8-person (Sienna) minivan rental, $238. If I can get it lower I will, but not with year-old convention codes.

I've never had a problem with National codes. But if you're nervous, go to mousesavers.com and use the link to join National's Emerald Club without the usual $50 fee.

Once you're an Emerald member you can reserve your van, then when you get to MCO you just go out to the row of vans, pick one, and show your driver's license at the exit gate!

It's quick, no lines to wait in, no counter agent to ask you about any codes. Works like a charm, don't know how I ever lived without Emerald club!

Ok, I just called Nat'l again - asked about the contract #6402639 - explained I had gotten it off the internet, knew nothing about it or did not belong to any club that used it. The gentleman I spoke with read all the information off to me from the ressie and when I told him how concerned I was about the contract #, he assured me that there would be no problem at all. I explained that this was for friends who were going to WDW, not for me. Again, he said there would be no problem.
You are correct MommyRN - when i played with the numbers again, the rate went up $150. No, this is not a job, just fun for me. I teach school, but have learned from some wonderful people on this board!!!
Oh, and they did keep their Alamo ressie for $42. more if they choose to go with it. Caroline

Great info on this National code...I posted another thread about this under "National Code 6402639". I don't think anybody is going to have a problem. If I have a problem (leaving for MCO on AUg 10th) I will post it.

Has anyone found a discounted rate for a minivan week of Christmas through New Years? I get one every year but haven't found one this year even though i have been trying for months :sad2:

Hmm - I haven't seen much of anything for Christmas time. Even the "plan ahead" discounts from Alamo end on 12/14/06. Keep your eyes peeled though, hopefully it will change...Oh - and stick to these boards...everyone here is sooooo helpful! Good luck!

Is Dollar for sure right at the airport (no shuttle)?

Couple days ago I did the Dollar code for a Minivan, 10 days starting Aug 2 for $333 total. Very happy. Thanks. :car:

No shuttle for sure! I went through Dollar in 04 and they had a counter right in the airport. Then I had to walk through this outdoor area to get to the garage where the cars were parked. It was pretty nice, not crowded at all but for some reason the attendants were very s-l-o-w. I would go through Dollar again though...that was my only "issue" with them and it really wasn't an issue at all!

Congrats on your great rate! Hope you have a WONDERFUL trip!
