Minimum points?

Hello everyone, I have a pretty basic question. I really love Disneyworld and all there is to do. Furthermore I love the resorts even more. The thinking behind me possibly joining DVC is to save some money over time because I dont think I will ever get sick of Disney. However, I definitely do not want to give up staying at the non-DVC resorts like AKL, CR, GF, and Poly.

So this leaves me with following question:

Can I buy into DVC with only 100-110 points. Disney states that you must buy minimum 150 points to join, but what if I can find a resale that is selling less points?

This I think would give me the best of all worlds. I mostly stay in value season due to annual conference down there in January. I could still stay at the monorail resorts if we have our heart set on it, and for those non-DVC resort stays I could bank the points for a future DVC trip (with a 1bedroom even maybe)

Thanks very much in advance ...
M

We just bought a resale at OKW for 100 points. DH thinks this will be more than enough but I give it 1-2 years and he will be wanting more points.

And I would assume you add points just like any other DVC member? What happens if you say add 50 Boardwalk points to your existing 100 OKW points? Could you reserve at Boardwalk 11 months in advance with all 150 points even though the 11 month window is for your home resort only?

Thanks
M

The 11 month window is only for the points bought with that home resort. Thus you would have 100 points with an 11 month window at OKW and 50 with an 11 month window at BWV, but 150 points to be used anywhere at the 7 month window only!!!
