Currently I have both a minivan ($220 for 8 days) booked AND Yourride ($80) roundtrip booked. I am wondering which would be the better choise. The cost will be split between 3 parties as it is me and DH and DS along with my parents, my grandmom and my best friend travelling with us. Would the van be easier with our son (who will be one and still in a car seat) or should we just take the shuttle and then rely on Disney transportation? I'm only questioning the choice because we're planning on dining at many resorts and I don't want to be bothered taking the bus to the closest theme park then taking another bus, boat or monorail to the resort we're dining at. Any thoughts either way? Any experieces??? Thanks!

It sounds like you don't want the hassle of taking your son and changin busses just to go eat dinner.

I always rent a car becuase I like to drive and I like being in control of my own schedule. When I want to go back to the hotel, I don't want to have to wait for the bus, especially when I am tired.

Rent the van. You will feel some much better knowing you are in control and can go when and where you want.

We rented a minivan this last time because we had 6 people and it's so nice to be able to go to resorts directly for a PS and not have to plan on bus and transfer time.

If you can afford it, rent the van. You will not be sorry.....IMHO :D

Here is another vote for renting the van.. We always rent a car in Disney World. I have to have the freedom that it affords. If you plan on going to a lot of different resorts to dine you will have to make bus transfers without the car... (Unless you are in a monorail resort).. I agree with RobinLyn, if you can afford it, rent the van.

Yeah, I think we'll go with the van. More control, more freedom, and we can strap the car seat in for the week and not have to worry about it! Thanks everyone for the advice!

Wow, that looks like a great price! Does that include all the fees and taxes? Best deal I could find for a 9-day rental was $311 through L&M (yes, I'm bringing all the right papers and even the wrong ones just in case!).

What rental company are you using and who do you know to get a rate of $220?

I would love to know too! I have used every code found on Mousesavers and still can't get a minivan for less than $350 for our 10 days in May.

I used National with the Disney Club discount (20%) plus $20 off coupon from my Entertainment Book. I've been re-checking lately, and I have NOT been able to do better, so I'm pretty happy with my rate.
