I saw a picture somewhere of a miniature tube slide for kids at TL. Is there something similar at BB? I still can't decide which water park to go to (never been to either). Any advice? Leave in a few weeks!!:woohoo:

They have a mini slide in the kids area of BB. They also have a slightly bigger tube slide in the pre-teen area. Something for everyone.

Remember to check the height of your kids before you decide. The BB little ones area has a maximum height limit - only an issue if you have a taller child who is not too comfortable in the water.

DD's favorite ride! She is 2.5. I was nervous about putting her on it but the lifeguard said to let her - and I'm so glad I listened. I can send you a pic if you'd like...I'm not sure how to post photos on here...

She LOVED it! Still talking about it too...

DS did the Storm Slides at TL when he was just about to turn 3, wearing a life jacket. We thought that he'd be frightened, so Dad went down first and waited for him in the landing area (on the deck, they don't let you wait in the water), while I sent him in at the top. He was fine and insisted on doing it at least a half-dozen times. You would be amazed at what some kids can do.

IMO, plenty of the "adult" attractions that don't have height requirements are fine for young kids with life-jackets, as long as they are not afraid of slides in general. However, in some cases the "kid" areas can have attractions that I think are iffy for kids who panic easily in the water: the two that come to mind are the ice floe and the t-bar at BB. Also, the lazy rivers can be a problem if they cannot be trusted to stay on the tube; if it is crowded and they end up in the water they can get trapped under other peoples' tubes.

When it comes to toddlers, I like BB better.

Thanks for the info. Seems like you're well versed on the water parks. We are looking forward to the lazy river- are there tubes for 2 people or they are all singles? Also, have you used the lockers there? What kind of key is it? Something waterproof-right? Thanks.

The tubes in the rivers are all singles, with 2 handles each. They do have "kids tubes" that have a filled-in center to sit on. What we have done with REALLY little kids is to have them ride on a big tube in a parent's lap, but ALWAYS wearing a life jacket, because it is very easy to lose your grip on them when getting on and off the tube, and getting out safely takes some tricky maneuvering that really requires help from a second person who is NOT sitting in a tube.

You cannot tie tubes together, the lifequards will call you down for that. You can hang onto another tube's handle, though, and that's what we do with younger kids.

I can't tell you about the lockers; we never use them. We leave all of our valuables at the resort and just leave clothes in our bags under our chairs.
(This goes for cameras, too -- we only bring waterproof disposables to water parks, because regular cameras don't play well with sand.)
